  1. i'm close to making a full tour of the globe! i moved from new zealand to france last year and now i'm moving from france to new york! it is quite stressful, as i have never been to new york before! i've looked into craigs list and general apartment search, however i have been really lucky in finding a job as a live in au pair basically. there is of course less freedom when it comes to being an au pair, however not only do i get to live rent free, no utilities, in a cool manhattan neighborhood, i get free food and at least 400 dollars a month of pocket money in exchange for taking care of 2 kids a couple of hours a day! sounds pretty sweet to me! plus if it doesn't work out i can always find another place later.
  2. hi! i'm from new zealand, and if it's NZQA approved then it's legit, therefore meaning it will be accepted in the US and everywhere else i assume. i think the problem would be will it be the equivalent to an MFA in the US. for me, i tend to think it's all pretty much the same once you get to a university level, i mean i know in the US a bachelor's degree is often 4 years whereas in nz it's often 3, but at the end you get the same qualification. thus i wouldn't worry about it being accepted or not unless you need an MFA to get into further studies, in that case, you should check out world education services. good luck with your studies in new zealand!

hello! just received my offer from steinhardt the other day for an MA in bilingual school counseling. i'm so excited about moving to new york, and nervous too, having never lived in the states before. but i am currently living in france and i am sure all the bureaucracy and stuff can't be harder than it is here in france! i too am on the wait list for housing, but i am looking into getting a place to share as well.
  5. congrats you guys!!!!! is anyone else applying for the MA in bilingual school counseling? i'm currently wait listed, have emailed them to see if i can get a status update on the waiting list but have yet to hear back from them. also are there any international applicants that know where the letters are sent from? i'm a NZ applicant but i am currently living in france, when i received the wait listed letter it was addressed to my address here in france but the post mark on the envelope was from NZ. i thought it was really weird, it took 2 weeks to get to me, looking at the date on the letter. just curious!
