Anyone has heard rejections from Columbia's or Duke's musicology program?? Why does even a rejection letter take so long!!!!

I think there is a general trend of having a lock on enthnomusicology Ph.D in America....

I heard that one of my classmates got in NYU ethnomusicology program....but haven't heard any activity about musicology.

Do those schools usually send out acceptances to applicants on the same day or different days? I am still holding my last little hopes after seeing on results page those acceptances from the schools I applied to...

Same here maybe. There are posts on result page about an interview invite from UCLA, admits from Duke and Stanford, I applied to all these three schools but haven't heard anything...

According to the past admission results here, we would probably get interview invites from Stanford next week.....Or anyone already got one??

Finally submitted all my applications yesterday. Now I feel like so empty...and what I can do is only waiting...Often dreamed I got an offer from somewhere though....Ahhh so torturous....

Totally same here. But you have already got an interview?? That's really early....I assume that I would probably hear something back at earliest in the late January.

Same, or even worse situation here. I have two schools due by December 1st, so far only one of my profs submitted the letter...

Hello everyone, I just want to get some suggestions about campus visit. What aspects do you suggest to look during a campus visit? Like sit in their classroom, talk with their professors? Anything else?

Hi everyone, I am an international student, currently a second-year master student in musicology in an American university. I would like to apply Phd in musicology this upcoming fall. The following is my current status: GPA: master 4.0; undergraduate (musicology major as well) 3.87; Toefl: 111 (Reading 30; Listening 27; Speaking 26; Writing 28) GRE: Verbal 152, Math 167, Writing(unavailable now) Paper: I might present a paper in a chapter conference this fall; I once published a critical paper in a non-English journal. Currently, I am little bit worried about my GRE score, since I would like to apply those best programs in musicology. I am afraid that I don't have enough time to work on GRE again, coz I need to take courses, revise my PS and papers. But according to your experience, do you suggest I need to retake GRE again to get more than 155 in verbal section? I am not sure how much GRE will be evaluated by faculties in those best programs?
