  1. IMO, I don't think it is appropriate to mention it your SOP. However, you should definitely mention what you have been doing the past year (assuming you have already finished undergrad), and how it has made you a stronger and more prepared candidate for entering grad school.

Applying to Where: Harvard (BMS) UCSF (Tetrad) MIT Stanford (Biosciences) Caltech UC Berkeley (MCB) Johns Hopkins Rice (Biosciences) UT Austin (MCB) Out of curiosity, could someone estimate what I would need to get on my GRE to have a good shot at these schools? I am a bit disappointed that none of my papers end up getting submitted, and hope it will not hurt me too much. Best of luck to everyone!
