So in the interest of sharing something personal, I currently work full time and I thought that getting offers from universities would be the hardest part. I was wrong. I'm learning that it is significantly more difficult to remain working while you have been accepted. If i had been rejected, the disappointment would've been tough but ephemeral. I would then focus on work knowing that next year i would try again. However, I'm finding now that its really hard to care about work at all. This is due largely to the fact that i will be leaving this job and my career as a software developer in the near future. I think the real difference is that instead of putting in two weeks notice I am waiting for the next 3-4 months before i do so. I've never had to wait that long before starting a job so i suppose this is all an exercise in patience? Anyways, this was just a thought i had rolling around.

I'm trying to be positive for the MSU. I recently had a chat with a friend who got his MA at MSU and started his PhD at Wisconsin-Madison and he also said that getting the interview is a very good sign. I interviewed with Dr. Emily Rader and Dr. Rabindra Ratan (both I had no former information and were not mentioned in my statement). I honestly have no clue whether I did well on the interview  While talking they asked me of what am I up to lately and I mainly talked about my most recent research proposal that I submitted for an international conference and was not included in my statement. Also I recall Dr. Rader mentioning that her current project is very much related to my research interest when I explained it to them as an answer to an interview question.
Your last encouragement kinda made me feel more hopeful !! Thank you @kaoticfen ! Fingers crossed for your other applications!

Cornell - Communication - Ph.D. admitted
Boston Univ. - Emerging media studies - interview next week...
Univ. of Washington - They need my TOEFL speaking 26 to be a TA... 

Congratulations! I just got an e-mail from UNC-Chapel Hill asking my Skype name for a 15 min. interview next Tuesday and Wednesday! Excited but also getting super nervous already! Not sure of what I should be prepared for the interview. Hope it turns out well next week.

It came from the School of Media and Journalism! (I think the name changed from the School of Journalism & Mass Communication)
