  1. Mine is still under consideration. I am sorry for you guys, let's keep it up. Did you get any e-mail from IHEID or you found out just randomly checking the follow-up module?
  2. We definitely are. But I was referring to the fact that, according to the e-mail I received from IHEID, they still have several applications to go through, while you said that all decisions have already been made.
  3. I wouldn't necessarily agree with you, as long as @AndrewM keeps himself kinda low-profile and humble. I mean, if he just says that he got X internship with Y institution that mainly deals with 1, 2 and 3, I think it wouldn't make him seem desperate. Rather, they may want to evaluate it positively in terms of candidate's good foresight together with the great opportunity coming up for him. Different reaction would be caused if he claimed the duties he'll be assigned to or the skills he'll gain, given that, as you said, he hasn't already completed the internship in question. However, I believe it is too late anyway for turning things around: les jeux sont faits.
  4. They e-mailed me back saying that we may have to wait until next week, and that all depends on when the AdCom finishes going through all the applications - which contradicts what @El pichichi asserted on the subject, actually.
  5. The Institute just confirmed we got to wait until next week for the final notifications to be released.
  6. Makes sense. I am wondering if this means that some applications will be considered this week, or it is just a matter of bureaucracy-related reasons, and all the decisions have already been made.
  7. Unfortunately, no. We were supposed to get both of them in mid-December, but apparently, when they shift admission notifications to mid-January, they also postponed scholarship decisions to March (supposedly, mid-March), as you can see in the follow-up module.
  8. And here we go... IHEID reopened, and notifications are freaking approaching. Pretty excited/scared/eager/whatever
  9. The regular notifications were released on March, 20th last year, which was a Thursday. But you're right, I think the 11th is a little too optimistic I am curious: what's your current job?
  10. Thanks, @AAAAAAAA. That's why I asked @El pichichi. If he got the news from the same whistleblower who told him about the mid-December notifications, I'd doubt it too. The point is that I, as everyone here, am starting to feel the notifications are approaching. And the idea that they may come out in twelve days, well it shook me up a little
  11. As far as scholarship goes, there are only two mandatory documents to upload: the motivation letter and your tax certificate. There are other document, though: parents' tax certificate, spouse's tax certificate, salary, savings, annuities, investments, scholarship you received in the past - this is the complete list you will see in the uploading documents section of you application once you will pay the application fee. Although they are not mandatory (meaning marked with *), you may want to upload them anyway so as to provide them with the most comprehensive picture of your financial situation as well as that of your family.
  12. Actually, once you fill in your referees' names, they will automatically get an e-mail from the Institute with the instructions to follow in order to upload their letters. The deadline for you referees is January 22nd if you apply by the regular deadline - January 15th. Hope it helps!
  13. That would be awesome - although I am trying to keep my enthusiasm about IHEID as low as possible in case of failure
  14. Did anyone else have a heart attack after receiving an e-mail from IHEID this morning - which was NOT about an update of our application status but about the 2016 Geneva Challenge?
  15. What happened with your mole at IHEID, @El pichichi? Did he/she get some wrong information?
  16. IHEID is my first choice, but I have a couple of backup plans - though none of them is even close to the Graduate Institute, as far as I am concerned. The good part is that these schools have later deadlines compared to IHEID, so I have quite some time to think about them. What about you guys?
  17. @Maeva, they show up on my follow-up module too, and then disappear pretty quickly. I believe it is a matter of HTML code once again, which does not mean anything, according to what the others said above.
  18. The point is that, apparently, there's no difference between deferring or waitlist an applicant, according to IHEID. The yellow question mark on the follow-up module says that the waitlisted status means that the application has been kept on a waiting-list and the applicant will be informed of the final decision at the latest by the end of May. However, in the Admission FAQs, they also say that they postpone a number of first round applications to be re-assessed during the second round. My question is: what's the difference between the first case (waitlisted) and the second one (postponing) - in terms of status, too? And how will I know whether I am concerned by the first option (which means decision in May) and the second (which should equal to decision in March)? It's my first application ever, and I might be doing too much confusion. Any more expert eye would be very much appreciated.
  19. So, according to what @haru_ko said, if in mid-January I will see my application status changing from under consideration to waitlisted, I'll basically have to wait until May and hope to fill some potential spots of those admitted who decide NOT to enroll? I thought it was as @taeyeon stated instead, which makes more sense to me actually: Early Applicant --> Decision in January --> Waitlisted? --> Final Decision in March Regular Applicant --> Decision in March ---> Waitlisted? --> Final Decision in May
  20. By clicking on the yellow question mark on the follow-up module, I noticed that waitlisted students will be informed of the final decision latest by the end of May. Does anyone know why is it May instead of March?
  21. What about having a discussion concerning the difference between early and regular deadline in terms of acceptance rate? I have always wondered if it is REALLY true what the Institute states in this page: chances to be admitted or to receive a scholarship are equal for both rounds. They also say that in order to ensure that the quality of admitted applicants is the same throughout the process, we postpone a number of first round applications to be re-assessed during the second round (is this what waitlisted means?). In terms of numbers, in the 2013-2014 academic year, they admitted 496 students in Master's Programs. They are seven, so they accept ON AVERAGE 70 students per Master's Program, right? My question is: what are the criteria they follow when deciding to postpone some applications from January to March? Does this mean that you are not good enough to get in with other fellow early bird applicants, yet you do not suck enough to be rejected straightaway? And, also, once again in terms of numbers, do they fill up the half of the slots in the January and the other half in March? Or - and this is how I wish it was - early bird applicants have (even slightly) more chances to get in (although they can't say it out loud on their website)?
  22. Still presente here as well. And this is why I am kinda starting to doubt that documents disappearance = decision made. I mean, isn't it weird enough that such thing happened to almost every applicant on this thread on the same day?
  23. This is precisely why I uploaded the Diploma Supplement my home university provided me with. It is a document conceived within the European Union and aimed at facilitating the recognition of university diplomas at an international level. It does include transcript of records as well as a thorough description of the nature and level of the studies completed. I thought it was the best way to compare my grades to the Swiss ones and give a comprehensive picture of my undergrad career.
