What did everyone think of the visit day?

Does anyone think Rochester is done with acceptances? There are only two, but I didn't think they staggered sending them out.

I am interested in the effects of Chinese foreign policy on developing countries. Also, good luck to everyone! This week will be another big one!

PSR people are the worst. I hope I never become one.

I would say really know your POI's research and be able to relate it to your own. Also, know other aspects of the program that make you attracted to it. Just an extra note, I'm pretty sure the interview is a strong indication that you will get accepted.

Does anyone know the average stipend Wisconsin offers?

It doesn't show that my GREs or Transcripts were received, but I sent them.

What does your apply yourself app thing say for Illinois? Mine just says submitted and shows that my LoRs were submitted. I'm worried about this because other programs who use this software update it when documents are received and they also change the status from "submitted" to "completed"

I can definitely relate, but remember that decisions this early are rare.

It seems weird that UIUC sent out acceptances on the 7th. Their application due date was January 1st.

I also want to thank you for this thread. I just have one question, do you think that the field would benefit if the process was made more transparent? Like if (25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles) for GREs and GPAs, average age, experience.. etc are required to be released by programs. This whole process, with the exception of some programs, seems to be purposely made opaque. And if you do think it would, why hasn't the field taken the steps to make it that way?
