Hello everyone, Is it necessary for us to send the official scores and transcripts after submitting the application online? I mean, can't I send my scores and transcript before that? TIA

Is it mandatory to include name in SOP, even if its not specifically mentioned?

Does it help that he is an assistant professor( with Ms degree) as well as my class coordinator at the college too? I really have very less time to arrange for another letter right now. Will my application be rejected based on this?

I am mainly applying for masters degree program and one PhD degree program. I am getting a LOR from a professor- who has been my project guide, tutor and lab instructor and has known me for 3 years. However, he doesn't have a PhD degree yet and is working on it, but has carried out good work in his field. Will it hurt my chances of getting an admit because of this? The other two professors that I am taking LORs from has PhD. Let me know what you think?

However while filling up the application form, in supporting documents, there is no mention for the requirement of "Research Interests". Is it optional then? How is the statement of research interest and statement of purpose different?

I have mentioned most of my research interests in my Statement of Purpose. Should I repeat the same points again in research Interests? Am i supposed to come up with a research proposal in this particular document? Please advice as to what to do. Deadline's on 1st November.

Your background and research interest fit in well of my laboratory. I would encourage you to apply to the graduate school here at XYZ. For your information, I can recruit student through either cell molecular biology program in Department of Biological Science or the neuroscience phd program. Please let me know if you have any more question.Best,Abc" After that we exchanged quite a number of emails following some questions I had to ask him. The professor's last email was, " Thank you, Nemog. Looking forward to your application!Best,Abc" Does it mean that I have got a sure shot chance of getting admitted to this program? Can anyone throw some light on this? Does it at all depend on the professor to select students from the applicants pool?

Hey piglet33! Thank you so much for the post. Yes, you are right, I need to start writing. I do have the points sorted out that I want to mention in my SOP. All this time, I just didn't have the courage to pen everything down, but now I know what to do. I will just take the points that I have in mind and form nice coherent sentences with it. Hello everyone, My first deadline is 1st December for Florida State University. I am in a soup right now. The only good thing about my situation is that I have received a positive and encouraging reply from one of the professors I want to work with. BUT yeah. No SOP till now. Not even the first draft. I am freaking out. Any advice anybody, to soothe my troubled soul?
