  1. You'll be fine! Your GPA is great and your GRE scores are pretty good too, so I don't think your writing will be an issue. I went through the process last year. I had a 3.45 cumulative GPA (changed my major too many times), a 3.67 major GPA, a 310 on my GRE and 4.0 on my writing. I had very average LORs and decent work/extracurricular experience. I was so nervous that I wouldn't get accepted anywhere due to my mediocre cumulative GPA and LORs so I applied to 10 schools. I ended up getting accepted to 9 of them. My best advice would be to apply to a number of different schools of different rankings, etc. Some programs focus on GPA, some focus on GRE, some focus on a mix of both, which is why I think its smart to apply to a bunch of different schools. Maybe not 10 like me haha but enough to feel safe that you will be accepted somewhere. If you also think your writing is an issue, maybe mention it in your personal statement. I mentioned my GPA in it and I think it made a huge difference. Either way, I think you'll be accepted to more schools than you think, and you'll learn that the writing really isn't an issue (considering as audiologists we will never have to write a time essay under pressure). Good luck!!
  2. I had my Salus interview this weekend and yes, you are correct. They were very nice yet still very professional. Congrats on the acceptance!
  3. To the original poster, what schools did you end up applying to? Have you heard anything yet? I'm pretty nervous about getting an acceptance. My cumulative GPA is a 3.44 and my major GPA is a 3.67. My last 60 hours GPA is about a 3.6. GRE scores: Q - 158 V - 152 W - 4.0 I have a good SoP and decent rec letters. I ended up applying to 10 schools but I am so nervous since my cumulative GPA is lower than most. Good luck with the application process!!!
  4. Was this for Salus? (I'm guessing because they are one of the few schools that does rolling admission). How was the interview? I'm kind of in the same boat. My GPA isn't the strongest but my GRE scores and rec letters are pretty good and I've done a lot of shadowing and observation. I have an interview coming up and I'm just kind of curious what they could possibly ask because like you said, the essay already talks about your motivation for pursing audiology.
  5. I totally understand where you are coming from. I currently go to Baylor University. My GPA is not very competitive and because I switched majors so late in my academic career, I did not build the relationships I needed to build with my professors. I have gotten my recommendation letters, but I'm afraid they are not competitive enough. My Major GPA is around a 3.55 and overall is about a 3.38. Fortunately, I did pretty well on my GRE: V: 152 Q: 158 W: 4.0 I have shadowed an Audiologist who is writing one of my letters of recommendation so I'm hoping that helps me out. While I am from Texas, I am looking at a lot of programs up north. I visited the University of Pittsburgh, but did not have enough time/money to visit the other schools which I think might hurt me. I am applying to: University of Pittsburgh (dream school), Salus University, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Ohio University, LSU, West Virginia, and probably a couple other schools. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I would also love to know where everyone ends up at! Don't give up, fellow AuD applicants!
