Just heard back from UPenn Africana studies. I had the interview on Friday and got accepted today via phone.

Just got a call from UPenn. Doing a finalist Skype interview!!

@HeidiBobineI haven't heard from UPenn. Just got rejected from Northwestern yesterday so now I'm just waiting on Yale, NYU (am studies) and UPenn. I feel like they must be interviewing by now? @zoesingcongrats!!!best feeling ever!! what program?

@BaldwinsBrother thank you!!!! to be honest, i am not even sure who called me. It wasn't POI.. she introduced herself but I was just trying to focus and not freak out. it could have been the director of graduate studies, that would make sense because her name started with an M. and she said that she found out they were emailing and sending letters tomorrow so she wanted to call to make it more personal.

@BaldwinsBrotherooh nice. Do you have a preference on African American/Africana studies vs. English programs? I applied to Yale for a African American and American studies combined degree, and for Harvard I did a specialization in Anthropology (which now I'm scared about because I don't have an anthro background so I hope that doesn't disqualify me)

@BaldwinsBrother nice!! did you apply to any programs in African American studies combined with English? and its okay, I was struggling too. I didn't even know what the "board" was until a few days ago. i kept seeing people post about it but didn't know how to find it.
