  1. I am being interviewed for a Ph.D program via Skype. They have not yet extended offers, so this interview is not purely for them to answer any questions I have, but presumbably meant to evaluate me as well. What would I be expected to wear? I was planning on wearing something like a pale blue button down shirt, khakis, i.e. something kinda nice but something you would wear to class. I assume that as academics, they do not expect/might be weirded out by a full suit, but is that normal in an interview? Should it be more business casual? I'm just to job interviews, where having a suit is quite important. Wasn't sure what to make of this.
  2. I'm beginning my applications to a bunch of Masters programs in Statistics. I was planning using my resume, but someone mentioned that they might prefer a CV. I know they are very similar, but which one is preferable? Advantages of CV: It will fully cover all of my research. I can go into more detail about what exactly I've done in my research. Advantages of Resume: The reason these are better for jobs is that you can really make the most important stuff sound out. I might not be able to go into the same detail as a CV, but I can make the single page look really good, and make the important information pop out. My worry honestly is that if I have all this space, my stuff will look less impressive, because there's all this space to put detail, and yet I won't have THAT much to put down! Thoughts?
