  1. Hi Everyone, I have been put on the waitlist to Waterloo. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the chances are of getting an acceptance after being waitlisted?
  2. She meant 1&2 year programs, but I don't know if that is a realiable source or not.... still checking quest like a madwoman!
  3. Well...the person who I spoke to on the phone, the one that told me that all acceptances go out in April, also told me that all 1 and 2 year acceptances go out at the same time. Is that what you mean by Advanced Standing? You have to have a BSW to take the program at Waterloo, as far as I am aware. The only options are part-time or full time.
  4. I received the following emial this morning. Not sure what to make of it. Someone told me on the phone last week that decisions would not be sent out until April. Hello Thank you for your follow-up. Decisions on acceptance are being communicated this week. Susan -- Susan Cadell Professor & Director School of Social Work Renison University College - University of Waterloo 240 Westmount Road North Waterloo, ON Canada N2L 3G4 phone: 519-884-4404 x28612 fax: 519-884-5135
  5. I spoke with someone last week that told me decicions would not be out until April. Ludacris! I received the following email this morning from Dr. Susan Caudell program director. Either could be correct I guess.
  6. I only know one person who has taken the msw at waterloo. She did out-patient counselling and ran the DBT program at our hospital for 10 years before doing her masters. So I don't really think there is a comparrsion to be done there.
  7. I called on Thursday, and the lady I spoke with on the phone told me April. I feel like that is absurd, last year people heard in Feb. She also told me that all acceptances (1 and 2 year) go out at the same time.
  8. I applied to the 2 year online at waterloo. There aren't a lot of waterloo applicants on here. Many people are deterred from applying due to the low accepance rate...30 per program. Are you applying to the 1 or 2 year program? Applied: University of Waterloo 2 year part time program Accepted: Rejected: Will be attending:
  9. ok here it goes. I have only applied to the 2 year MSW distance-ed program at Waterloo School: Social Services Worker Diploma, graduated with honors. BSW final average was 85% (not sure what that is in a GPA). Volunteer: I currently sit on the Board of Directors for a well known non-profit, I have volunteered for this agency for approx. 10 years. I sit on a committee for the Ministry of Child and Youth Services. Previous volunteer includes, Canaidan Mental Health Association (700 hours) and Probation and Parole (600 hours) and the Salvation Army (250 hours). I have volunteered for a number of non-profit for different fundraising events, perfaps 500 hours total. Paid: Dietary Aid (retirement home - agreed not really social services but many skills are transferrable), Community Support Worker, Crisis counsellor, Residential Youth Worker, Disease Prevention Coordinator, Social Worker - Paediatric Psychiatry (current) Research: none
  10. It's also the only program I applied to. And only to the part-time, distance ed. I wonder if there are any stats available as to the backgrounds of those accepted in previous years, just to get an idea of how competetive our applications are. I am not a very patient person, clearly.
  11. MARCH! What a long time to wait. Thank you for your reply. Good luck with your application. Are you hoping for Part-time or Full Time?
  12. The application deadline for Waterloo's MSW program was today (Dec 1). Does anyone know when I might see an acceptance/rejection letter?
  13. Wow, only 30! That's not very reassuring. Much less than I had thought it would be. Thank you for your quick reply. It is much appreciated.
  14. Has anyone applied to the MSW program at waterloo? Any ideas on how many people are accepted, or where to find that sort or information?
