I'm sorry if this is a silly question and I hope it's okay to ask here. I'm looking at SJSU's website and they say that the online MSW application is still open until May 20th. Is this a different MSW program than what you all have applied to? I'm considering applying there but I'm just dreading doing two more years of unpaid internships.

Hi, just like the title said. A lot of my BSW classmates applied to our school's MSW program. Most of them have been accepted (yay!). I haven't heard back from Chico State, the only place I applied, and paranoid me is wondering if MSW Advanced Standing programs tend to accept their own BSW grads first and then offer positions to other applicants. Thoughts?

I hope it's okay to introduce myself so late in the game! I'm 27 and will be graduating with my BSW in May. I've applied to only one advanced standing MSW program - Chico State in California - and I've been doing okay with the wait so far but tonight a serious case of anxiety hit. I'm really glad to have found this forum! Has anyone else here applied to Chico? I applied to the gerontology program and heard from them that only ~1/3 of people get accepted. Not bad odds, but I'm still stressed over it. If I can get accepted this time around, the VA will cover my tuition, so that's a huge reason to hope for acceptance. Glad I'm not alone!
