  1. I decided to apply for a research assistantship which is typically for Phd seeking students. I am seeking a masters degree. The application is simple and I have answered all but one question. The question is using specific examples describe your skills for using technology. That question is super vague and as the application is due tonight. I am hoping someone could quickly help me answer this question without sounding like a sarcastic jerk. I keep thinking I use a computer every day to write papers and send emails. I don't have any extra skills to provide like coding or anything. how should I answer this without sounding either incompetent or sarcastic. The assistantship application is for a higher education assistantship. sorry for the last minute drop. but I didn't plan on applying as they typically go to Phd students.
  2. Can someone please explain the difference between a Statement of Purpose and Personal Statement? The school I am really hoping to get into requires a Statement of Purpose for the master program. I have read a couple of forums here on SoPs and they seem to be in reference to PhD applications. Is there a difference in writing for an MA vs a PhD? I apologize if these seem trivial, but I am the first person to attend a Masters program in my family and I am limited at the moment to learn the difference.
  3. I did not see any other admission deadlines to apply. I have been studying and will take the test in a couple of weeks from now. Hopefully the additional studying has paid off enough to get me into the program. If not I will be applying to the other schools with lower scores unfortunately. You guys are very helpful.
  4. Okay thank you. My problem is that the application is due in a month. I am really far behind and I am trying to play catch up.
  5. Hello everyone, I received my GRE score and it was a total of 294 which I know isn't great, but the school I am looking into requires a 300. Do you think schools will have some wiggle room or should I retake the test. I am going in to higher education and ultimately student life. (activities council adviser or leadership/civic engagement). I have been highly active and held multiple positions and jobs in the field. Would these pull any weight as well?
