Have you already applied? I would fear that the low GRE score may have gotten your application tossed upon first pass. Other schools do use a more holistic approach to apps, so you might want to look back on this forum to see the trends of your school choices. Also, plenty of people get in without publications so long as you have the research experience!

Hey guys, Need some advice. UCSF BMS falls on the same weekends as NYU-Sackler and Cornell. I'm wondering if I should hold onto the hope that UCSF BMS might extend an invitation in January. I already confirmed Cornell. NYU is now asking for a reply ASAP. I'm wondering if I should ask NYU for an alternate date even though I am perfectly open. Advice is much appreciated!

Cornell only offered Jan20-23

@biotechie when asked about your research interests did you adjust your answer to somewhat cater to each interviewer, i.e. bridge the gap to make it more relevant to their work or be very upfront. When I was speaking with a POI, I started off saying I'm interested in the very topics covered by his lab, and he got very excited. Then I continued about my interest in utilizing bioinformatics, and his voice seemed a little taken aback. He then began suggesting other faculty members I might be interested in. I cannot tell if he's trying to be helpful, or if I should have stopped talking while I was ahead. Or I am looking to much into this and should relax. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! Long time lurker here! congrats/good luck to everyone. I'm still waiting for the jan4 decisions from Stanford and Berkeley. Not sure if I'm giving false hope or not, but Im a tech at UCSF, and a lot of the BMS students I've talked to said their invitations came in January, so theres still a chance until that rejection letter comes.

@pm666 got a call from UCSD bms yesterday. They only offered me the weekend of Feb25. They're calling today as well. Good luck!
