  1. Hi, I am not sure if the ranking actually matters in your case because first, University of Ottawa is among the top universities in Canada. So if you are going to stay in Canada, the Immigration office will consider you graduating from their top universities. Second, the main fact that you need to take into consideration is the country need for immigrants; Canada welcomes more immigrants than UK, therefore, you have more chances to stay in Canada after graduation. But it also depends on finding a suitable job right after.
  2. Hello guys, I was wondering if any of you had joined any of the below mentioned universities in Canada for a PhD in English program. - University of Toronto - York University - McMaster University - University of Ottawa I am asking because I am still waiting for their Graduate Committees' decisions which will be out in the coming two weeks. However, I have no idea about their applicants' competition; how many applications they receive and approve each Fall and what is the percentage of accepting International students (which is my case). I really appreciate if any of you has any experience or notion about my concern to share it with me. Please find below some brief facts about my application: - MA in English Literature from an American School outside the States - GPA 3.88 - Strong Recommendation Letters - Strong consent/interest in supervision from each of the above mentioned institution's professors - Languages: Fluent in Arabic, English, and French Many thanks for your replies,
