  1. Same here! Maybe I'll see you at more than one visit!
  2. This has been really really helpful. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in!
  3. Hi everyone! As we move through the application process I have been noticing that the schools I've applied to have vastly different levels of funding and whatnot. Does anyone know of a source for finding out funding averages or do you just have some general knowledge? I am trying to put everything into some sort of context, but I am really not sure where to start! I know things are adjusted for cost of living and whatnot, but still... Any help is appreciated! EDIT: Whoops. I just noticed there is a thread similar to this already. Not using my brain yet this morning.
  4. If any of the other Wisconsin admits are interested: I semi-interrogated Charlotte about the potential funding today! Feel free to pm me if you want to know more
  5. No sanity to speak of, but thanks for doing that! Here's to hoping we're all in for good funding!
  6. As a fellow Berkeley applicant, I'm thinking the news is likely grim. But the best cure for bad news is good news, so onward to the next
  7. Cross your fingers for me guys! The Professor I TA for just texted me saying she won't make it to the 10:00 class she teaches, so I have to do it. Boy do I wish this class was in my specialty area!
  8. Me too You're such a wonderful and positive voice on the forums (in the sociology boards too!) that I get just as psyched for you hearing back as myself! Congrats again!
  9. Seconded. Also, @goofylemon when we post right after each other I imagine our cat pictures are having some sort of epic stare down. Congrats on today's acceptances! I know we've heard about Berkeley's adcom, but is there any word on Princeton?
  10. With the exception of some of the wonderful news in this thread today, it seems like it's a bit slow today, especially in sociology. I got myself all excited over the weekend (as usual). Perhaps tomorrow! Congrats to everyone who got good news today!
  11. I agree. I had really gotten my hopes up too.
  12. As an aside: does anyone else feel like they are incapable of concentrating on normal tasks during this application process? Ugh. Suddenly sitting through classes seems painful. I wish every day was Sunday so I could spend a lot of time in bed drinking wine and watching Buffy.
  13. Perhaps I was unclear. I did not mean to imply any inflated wish for my own success. I meant 'ups all around' referring to good news for everyone on the forum (though I like good news as much as the next person).
  14. Hi! I responded to her email about 4 seconds after she sent it, which is maybe why I got such a quick response. I remember her saying she had flexible daytime hours tomorrow, but less during the week. So maybe if she doesn't respond tomorrow it would be worth following up? Also, it was a short call ~15 minutes, so scheduling it isn't too bad!
  15. Congrats to those Stanford acceptance rolling in!
  16. She also said it would take 15 minutes or less, so that's easing the nerves too
  17. Seems like they want a quick turnaround, but on the bright side it gives us almost no time to get nervous
  18. Saw that Stanford waitlist on the board...does this mean news to come from all of the Stanford applicants? Maybe tonight will get very exciting (or Monday lol)!
  19. Congrats to you too!! I'm hoping I haven't used up all my luck I am so excited to check out Seattle (and the program of course)!
  20. Looks like some admits tonight. Just got the good news from Washington!
  21. Sorry to change the topic slightly, but the results board seems awful quiet today.
  22. Mostly it's because they have notified really early in the past three years. They notified on 21-Jan (2015) 25-Jan (2014) 18-Jan (2013), so we are just getting a bit antsy too
  23. I hope you're right! I really like Washington's program, so would love to still be in the running!
  24. I've also been wondering if I have gotten de facto rejected from Washington. I assumed there would be more posts about them in the results than just one. But maybe they just didn't admit very many this year (or none of them happen to use grad cafe).
