I was also a little uncertain about online but what I have learned is that SJSU got 500 applicants this year - they chose 110 for campus and 50 for online. Online is with current MSW professors who will teach realtime lectures online. The online classes have a student cap of 25. So it sounds almost as good as oncampus without driving or parking issues.

MargaretSG - did you fill in the form that asked whether you would be interested in either online or campus or both? for SJSU. I had said I was interested in both. What I have found out so far is that they plan on a cohort of 50 for their online program. There are live online lectures with the current MSW faculty and both structurerd and unstructured opportunity for student interaction. They will be capping the online classes at 25 students. It sounds interesting!! No commute or parking issues.

I heard from SJSU last night that I have been accepted into their Online Program. Was really hoping to get into the campus program. They need me to let them know within two weeks about my decision. I guess this means that they have already notified those in the campus program? I'm guessing. I wrote a really good statement, I have a 4.0 GPA and about 1700 hours of volunteer/internship experience. I guess there must be alot of exceptional candidates out there!!!!!!!

Ok - I am fairly new to this type of forum so not sure if I am posting this in the correct place - responding to VNSSMSW16. I have applied for the Health, Mental Health Concentration. How about you? Also I have heard that approx. 400 applications are sent each year that means only 20% of us will get in - can in be that bad. I sure hope not.

Hi I am starting this thread in the hopes that I can connect with others who have applied to SJSU's MSW program for Fall 2016. I submitted my appllication on January 15th. I have a strong GPA 4.0 and about 1700 hours of related volunteering/internship but still not certain I will get in. I am wondering if anyone knows how many applicants will be accepted this year?

Hi lilly492, I have just submitted my application to SJSU's MSW program. Feeling extremely nervous. I am only applying to one more school (not sent yet). I see your post is from Oct. HAve you submitted your application yet. Yes I have heard it is very competitive - I believe perhaps 25% of applicants get chosen. Not sure how many spots they have this year? Do you? I am new to this forum so still trying to figure out how to move around and find others who have applied.
