@redtaz I haven't gotten a decision from them either. So I don't believe it's all of them. It's probably going to be in batches like most schools.

Anyone else get a random email from CSULB today that the School of Social Work received their app?

@MrsKozee I got the same emails too! However, I applied after the december deadline. I got super excited as well and decided to call and check the status of my application. The super sweet lady let me know that they can't even review my application until the March deadline, given they have to look through priority first. That said, I think the scholarship information was generic to all applicants

I'm on the same boat! I submitted the same day as you. Anxiously waiting for something from CSUF but after the initial email with my student ID....crickets. I check the my fullerton portal but it's a very generic " we've received your application, no decision has been made" type of message. As for CSULB, I've gotten the same email for final review. You can check the status of your app through the self-help button & it'll tell you if you're missing anything but that's about it.

@Jessa did you by chance get an email when the issue had been resolved saying that your application was complete? The rep on the phone told me it would only take a day to process but I haven't gotten any notification that it was resolved.

@dansam101 it depends on which deadline you applied before. If you applied for priority, you should be hearing back soon. If you applied before the March deadline, you'll be hearing back more-so in April. (according to the guy in the department that I spoke to) Hope that helps.

Congrats to you both! So exciting!! Ok so I just got off the phone with the department and they told me it'll take another day to process and get that transcript off of my record. However, since I did not apply to the December deadline, I won't hear back until April ?. I'm sure this means whoever did apply for the December deadline should be hearing back soon. Good luck!!

@dansam101 that threw me off as well, but from from obsessively stalking last years post, it seems like the same email. Hoping we both hear back real soon! fingers crossed!

@dansam101 this is what the email said: Thank you for your application to the Master of Social Work program at the University of Southern California. This email is to confirm that your application is currently being processed. Please note this DOES NOT confirm the receipt of all required application materials. If additional materials are required you will be notified. You will be notified of your admission decision two – four months after the deadline via email and postal mail. However, I called right after this was emailed to me to double-check my transcripts and found that they had a college listed that i never attended. While on the phone fixing the problem, I got an email stating : At this time, your application for Fall 2016 is incomplete. I think it's due to the transcript issue and I believe it's fixed. However, people who received the first email last year typically heard back within the same week. I'm so confused, anxious, and excited all at the same time.

@goal_digger IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU! The admissions staff seem to be in quite a mess, but from the looks of it, I'd say that means you're in! Also, you should probably check if a decision was posted to your you.usc account. Maybe that'll have some info Good luck to all of us that are left! Loll

@vts619 I sent in 1/14 - I know, I sent it in later than most in this thread. BUT still super impatient =/

I got an email from them this morning that my application was being processed so I figured I would call and make sure all of my transcripts and documents were in. The same thing happened to my application where they said they were missing transcripts from a school I had never been to. I wonder how long it'll take from here on...

Here's some of my timeline: csumentor app submitted 1/11, I handed in my packet in person (didn't want to take any chances) 1/13, initial confirmation email 1/13, application going into departmental review email 1/27 Has anyone else gotten this email recently? I want to hear back already!! I can't wait anymore, the anticipation is killing me haha

Hi all! I also applied, but submitted my app early January. USC has been my goal since I can remember. Do any of you have a plan on stomaching the cost? How much aid are you guys expecting?

Hey all, I submitted my applications to USC, CSUF, CSULB, and CSUN not too long ago. Now, the awful waiting game has begun and I'm already tossing and turning. I'm graduating with my B.S. in Psychology this spring, with minimal social work internships and a lot of irrelevant retail work. My GPA is currently a 3.46. I am fairly confident in my SOP and my recommendations were from a professor, program director of my internship, and SW supervisor at the same internship. USC has been my dream school since I can remember, but how does one deal with the cost? Please let me know if you have any idea/opinion on my chances of getting in to any of these schools.
