What an eclectic mix. I saw on the results page that someone got accepted to the UCLA program yesterday. Did your Washington rejection have a personalized piece of "advice" in it? I did not enjoy that.
UW as in University of Washington? Or Wisconsin? I also applied to UCLA but I'm not feeling optimistic, I didn't realize how competitive the UC schools were.
Wow,yes, this is very helpful. Neither my mentors or my PIs mentioned this in considering research interests so I hadn't really thought about it in this way.
Did anyone apply to CUNY? I saw their invites went out and I'm incredibly disappointed because my POI and I had the exact same research interests which is incredibly difficult to find for me. I know research focus changes over time and all but still, v disappointed.
Not a personally but one of the most lovely and helpful grad students I worked with applied to 12 places, interviewed at six and got accepted to one program.Not sure if that is more helpful or depressing.
