Hi there @Arch-enthusiast! I applied to VA Tech for M.ARCH for Fall 2016. It's In-State for me so it would be likely be the most affordable of the programs I applied to. Did you end up going there? What's Blacksburg like? How are you finding the program? Are there opportunities to work while studying? And lastly, how is the housing situation? Thanks!

I'm switching fields / careers from IT to Architecture (The building kind, not computer architecture!!) and will need an M.ARCH to do that. However, more broadly I also want a design degree. I've come to find IT too mundane. I do hope that I can leverage my IT background though. My dream is to design cutting edge office spaces for start-ups and technology companies. Can't wait to have a business card says Computer Architect & (Building) Architect. Good luck to everyone! Hard to believe we'll be finding out in a matter of weeks how much our lives will be changing!

Hi @katethekitcat, This sounds like a really cool program! I have 2 questions: 1) What is the privacy like in terms of adjoining bedrooms and bathrooms? Bathroom to bedroom ratio? Unisex or single-sex? 2) My sister has applied to UMich as an incoming freshman (undergrad) and I have applied as a Grad Student for the 3.5 year Master of Architecture program.
