I would pick one method and stick to it-- I prefer bolding since it sticks out a lot more. Bolding what you want to get across is super important-- my review 3's comment was essentially just restating what I bolded (which worked in my favor).

Has anyone heard back about an alternate interview date at Columbia? It's been a while and they haven't given me a definite answer yet...

Nope. Sent a follow-up e-mail yesterday but have not heard anything. I did e-mail the coordinator the professors I wanted to interview with, so I'm guessing he's trying to figure out a schedule based on their availability!

I e-mailed! Didn't get a response yet since I e-mailed after business hours. Yeah, I'm still waiting on Harvard and UCSD, but I think their interview dates already passed. Congrats to you too! Did you happen to get a specific date of an alternate weekend? My March is pretty booked as well! And yeah, since Columbia is so match based, I imagine the interview is mainly dependent on who wants to speak to you anyway.

Same here. I'm guessing many people have this problem since several interviews are that weekend and they notified us pretty late. The coordinator asked me if I was available a different weekend, so it's possible they might coordinate an alternate weekend depending on the our availability?

Just Skyped with a POI from UW-Seattle just now (wasn't the one that posted on the results page). I'm guessing the invites for UW will be sent out sometime next week, as he e-mailed me the past weekend to talk either today or Saturday, 1/31.

Has anyone received the Stanford e-mail yet? They said it would be sent out yesterday, but have not received it yet :\ edit: or does anyone have a status update about it? Thanks

They haven't sent the e-mails out yet-- guessing they will do so tomorrow, so there's still some chance!

Hi there! Long time lurker-- huge congrats to everyone in this thread. Just received a call from a POI at Stanford BioE. SO ecstatic!!!! He said they will send out the e-mails later today. However, the interview weekend for Stanford conflicts with another interview weekend, in which the school has already bought me airplane tickets. Stanford is one of my top choices, so I would much rather go to that visiting weekend. What is the right thing to do here? Does anyone know of people who had to decline a visiting weekend after accepting the initial invitation? I was planning to e-mail the other school and explain the situation, offer to pay the cancellation fee, and ask for an alternative weekend. Thank you!
