Hey @Syas how did you find out about your waitlist situation? Did you email the department because I've been waiting to hear back from them as well and hoping it's at least a wait list rather than an outright rejection. I have other options but I'd really like to get some closure if you know what I mean! Cheers!

Anybody's heard from Duke and Illinois in terms of rejections? Got my Chicago and Rochester this week. I am dearly hoping for a miracle...but looks like it's either going to be Davis or Pittsburgh for me...any suggestion on the two schools would be appreciated! Cheers!

Any news on visit days from UIUC...Rochester and Duke? Could somebody tell me when these are?

@alphazeta My research interest match to a professor who is fairly new out of columbia. While she is engaged in a few projects, she has yet to publish a lot of substantial papers. I know there is a book in progress. How do you guys feel about this? I am sure she's not had a single student graduate because it's just been 3 years since she joined the department. When I talked to her, she seemed excited and so am I but now I am confused.

I feel the pain...I've been in the purgatory for quite some time now! It's bad how they keep us lot hanging while already inviting people for visitation weeks! Actually thinking of emailing all departments that I am yet to year from and asking for decisions!

I see a late DUKE hope! Is there any hope for us lot yet! Political Economy concentration here...how I wish my dreams come true! haha

@elwright Hey elwright...just wanted to quickly check...did you receive any email of acceptance from Illinois and Michigan State...alas..I feel I did get rejected from both the schools...I guess the rejection emails are yet to be sent out! On the overall topic of research interest - Democratization, political behavior and economic policy choices

My only hope at a good ranked school - when do you think Rochester is going to publish it's results? Rejected from UCSD...no email from Duke and Chicago (taking it as rejection) so Rochester!!! let's go...CRUSH MY DREAMS ALREADY!!

Duke out..Chicago Out..Duke was probably my best fit...sadly! Waiting for Rochester and UCSD now! UC-Davis and Pittsburgh in...Good Luck everyone and Congratulations to all who got in! Cheers!

@Determinedandnervous Accepted Pittsburgh. No word on Chicago or Duke! Duke was the best fit for me. So until now looks like it is either UC-Davis or Pittsburgh! Congratulations!

@joseon4th did you get you offer yet? I did receive mine and i am not sure if it is good...would you mind sharing yours? - 2K first quarter...then TA or RA....non resident tuition for a year but not sure what happens after that...any idea?
