  1. What have people been getting on scholarships for USC's MSW programs? I got offered $20,000 (for both years) from USC and from NYU I received $15,000 (per year). I am still debating which one to attend this Fall.
  2. I need your help y'all so I am debating whether I want to attend NYU or USC for my MSW. I got a $15,000 scholarship from NYU (renewable my 2nd year) and a $20,000 ($10,000 each year) scholarship from USC. I would pay approximately $90,000 to attend NYU and about $104,000 to attend USC. I am from California and my parents prefer I stay here but I am ok with attending either school. Is it always the case that you get a job where you practice? What if I want to return to California to get a job here? How friendly is NY to LGBT people? What are some of your suggestions/ thoughts?
  3. When did you apply for USC's MSW program?
  4. So has anyone decided to attend NYU for Fall 2016?
  5. I submitted my MSW application for USC yesterday March 2. Does anyone know when March 2nd applicants find out?
  6. @BrendonSW do you know what the maximum amount of scholarship money is? If they have one.
  7. @tudor3x8 did they state so in your award email? They sent me a follow up email stating "By now you should have received an email awarding you a scholarship. Please note that the amount listed is the TOTAL for the academic year, which includes both the fall and spring semesters. This award is not per semester...etc.." I am wondering if it is renewable?
  8. For those people who have been accepted... Do you know if when they give you a scholarship upon reviewing your application, if they renew it the second year?
  9. Ok. Thank you @BrendonSW I hope I get a good financial aid package then. Do you know if housing is usually pricey for grad students?
  10. Does anyone know how much the cost of attendance for NYU's MSW is per year?
  11. I got my decision letter this morning!!! I was admitted to their two year program
  12. Nice!

  14. Hopefully! *** fingers crossed*** Did you apply for the regular two year MSW program?
  15. lol... they are such a tease, when I woke up I actually thought it was their decision letter lol
  16. @MSW768 they sent me an email this morning which talked about the Greenwich Village and the admissions office. Have you received anything?
  17. Yeah I thought they would be sending out letters/ emails this weekend, but I guess not. Perhaps this week... Good luck!
  18. Has anyone recently heard back from NYU?
  19. @MSW768 I submitted my application on January 7th and I still haven't heard anything. I am hoping they tell us soon. Did you apply for the regular 2 year program?
  20. @nymsw Congrats!!! When did you submit your application and what program did you apply for?
  21. @yogaandpearls06 did you apply for NYU's MSW advanced standing program or the regular (traditional) two year program?
  22. It's just an email from Dr. Lynn Videka telling you thank you for applying to the program and she explains that the program is clinical adding onto your graduate experience.
  23. @BrendonSW Thank you for your response Brendon! I am really hoping to get into NYU. Good luck to you too. and yes I received my e-mail from the dean on January 21st.
  24. Hey y'all! I am applying for my MSW at NYU and USC. I am really hoping to get into NYU... it's my dream school. I am kind of worried about my GPA. I submitted my app on Jan 9th but apparently they extended the deadline for Fall 2016 so I don't know if this affects the time we are suppose to hear back from NYU. I attend University of California, Santa Barbara: 3.12 overall & 3.33 major pga I am a global studies major, I have been a resident assistant 2 years and currently I am a resident director. I have been an educator for one year and I have conducted research for a full year. I think I wrote a strong statement of purpose. My LORs are from two professors and a work supervisor. I received mostly A's my third year and I am I did really well last quarter.
