  1. My decision is between Queen's University and the University of Toronto.
  2. Good afternoon CitizenFour, May I ask why you are declining a funded offer for that of the University of Toronto? I am in the process of making a similar decision. Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone, My area of research interest in IR is non-state actors, the Middle East, counter-terrorism, and foreign policy. With that said, I was offered admission into Queen's University and the University of Toronto and have been struggling with the decision of where to go for my MA. Would anyone be able to provide some insight and opinion on this. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Looks like I will be doing the homework as well. Ya the funding package at Queen's is attractive. So conflicted haha. U of T - political science, International Relations. How about yourself?
  5. My two top choices are Queen's University and University of Toronto. I got accepted into both. Now not too sure which one to attend...
  6. Congrats! They have yet to mention funding. Talking to professors from my University, they have stated that U of T rarely, if ever offers a financial package - not to sure as to the reason. Anyone have any insight as to why this is? puffingtonbear, is U of T your top choice?
  7. Congrats belles! Also, just received an offer of admission to University of Toronto for MA. Check emails! An exciting day for a Monday!
  8. Good morning all, Just got an MA offer of admission for York University a few minutes ago. Check your email!
  9. Work in IR - foreign policy and such with Federal govt. I hear a lot about Queen's being well-known in comparison to other institutions, so that also attracts me more so to Queen's. Financial packages are important, but also want to go somewhere well-recognized.
  10. Im focused on IR and foreign policy - post 2001 policy, etc.
  11. What are some opinions on doing an MA in political science - IR at Carleton?
  12. Hey Herovid. Sorry for the late reply. I heard back from the Political Science Department, Graduate Faculty and Kristin Good. I ended up turning down that offer.
  13. Hey everyone. Just received acceptance from Carleton, Guelph, and Waterloo - Check your email! I was away for a week with no internet so it was great seeing those emails! Still waiting for Toronto and York. What is everyone's opinion of Queen's? So far this is my top choice. Thanks!
  14. Hey everyone! I just received an admissions offer from Queen's University. So check your emails! Best of luck!
  15. Sorry to bother you all again, but I need your opinion. As previously mentioned, I have been offered admission into Dalhousie with full scholarship covering tuition, a Teaching Assistantship, and a Research Assistantship. Yesterday I had also been offered admission into Western University. Now today I have been offered a complete financial package for Western University, however it does not indicate a solidified Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistantship. My area of focus/interest is International Relations and foreign policy. In your opinion, which institution would be best suited for me? Any recommendations or suggestions are greatly appreciated as I only have till 22 Feb. to make the decision for one of the universities and March 14th for the other. Thanks!
  16. Congrats PoliPixie! University of British Columbia have also started admission offers today I noticed. So far I am torn between MA at Dalhousie or Western...
  17. Hey everyone! Just got an offer of admission from Western University, so those should be coming around now for those who applied there. Best of luck!
  18. Hey hdh, I got into Dalhousie with full funding, along with a teaching assistantship, and a research assistantship with Dr. Frank Harvey. Upon looking at the faculty list and their research interests, I feel as thought my interests align well with theirs. The stressor of this whole situation is, however, that they want a reply of acceptance or decline by February 22. Thus, I have to make a decision prior to receiving other offers. So I was just curious as to Dal's reputation and recognition of a MA from that institution. As you mentioned, the Centre for Foreign Policy Studies, EU Centre, and Dallaire Initiative are great for establishing connections and further learning. Just curious what others have to say about that institution and offer. Any thoughts, opinions, and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  19. Any comments on Dalhousie University for focusing on International Relations and Foreign Policy? What is the university like? Thoughts? Thanks!
  20. Hey everyone, I see offers for University of Victoria and Dalhousie University have started to go out! Anyone have any insight into when admissions offers go out for Ontario Universities - U of O, U of T, Queen's, etc.? Thanks and best of luck to all!
