  1. Hey, I don't have too much advice, but from what I've experienced it's essential to be clear on why you're interested in school psychology vs. clinical or counselling psychology, and what aspects of the school psychologist role appeal to you. I would recommend reading NASP's description of a school psychologist if you haven't already. Dissect the role into its different parts (assessment, intervention, consultation, etc) and choose examples from your work/school history to illustrate why each excites you. Hope that helps! Good luck!
  2. Yes! I'm starting to get really anxious because of the 5 schools I applied to, I got one rejection, one wait list, one decision pending post-interview, one interview coming up, and no contact from one but I'm pretty sure it's a rejection. How has everyone been dealing with the wait? My method- constantly checking emails and the grad cafes "search" feature- can't be healthy!
  3. Yeah, they contacted me on Wednesday to schedule an interview. Any news for you yet? Has anyone heard from UW post-interview? Not sure I actually want to know the answer to this...ignorance really is bliss in these anxious times! ?
  4. Thanks. It was from the program director! It'll be a Skype interview this Thursday, not sure of the time yet. Have you heard from them yet?
  5. Just heard back from UBC to schedule an interview next week!
  6. Hi! I am Canadian- my alma mater is UBC- and the only Canadian school I applied to this year was UBC. Last year I applied to U of A and was accepted on February 5 without an interview. I also applied to UBC last year, had an interview in February 6, and was wait listed and ultimately denied admission. I chose to decline my UA offer last year because the program is not accredited and accreditation is something I really value. I applied to UBC again this year and haven't heard anything yet so I don't know if they've sent out their interview invitations! This waiting is absolutely brutal, especially since the American schools are at the height of their interview season. Hang in there and remember you're not alone in this incredibly anxiety-inducing situation!
  7. Hi all, I only applied to 5 schools: UCSB, UC Berkeley, UW, UO, and UBC. I too was rejected from UCSB and have yet to hear from UBC and Berkeley. I had a Skype interview with UO last week and the connection was fuzzy and I felt like I didn't answer the questions as well as I could have in person. Tomorrow is UW's interview day and I'm trying to best to calm my nerves, but nothing is working! Anyone else in the same boat? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
