I got this eamil today as a reply.

If you did not receive an email concerning the Excellence scholarship, so unfortunately you do not get this scholarship. Maybe you have a chance to get the Master scholarship. Till the end of March you should get an email with the result.

    Best regards

    D. Handloser

Thank you for sharing. Exactly what I expected... Let's see the Master scholarship.

    Oh OK, thank you.

A senior just told me that ESOP desicions were sent at different time according to departments, but just very few students can be awarded an ESOP...so depressed and nervous for no any ESOP notification yet...

I've totally lost my last hopes yesterday when some people were notified but we haven't. My hopes are focused right now into the Master scholarships...

I just heard of from some seniors that some major and departments sent notification letters slower than others. But also I wonder whether no interview exactly means no ESOP?

I do not think that restrictedly no interview = no ESOP. But I think your chances are low if you were not requested an interview, if that makes any sense.

  4. Hello to everyone!

have you guys noticed the new notification in the ESOP/Master Scholarship Programme web page? I copy/paste here so everyone can read. Therefore, I suppose that we will hear from them next week (finally, although not many hope since I wasn't interviewed). I also sent them an e-mail asking for the partial stipend. At the moment I received an answer, I let you know!

    Application

for the academic year 2016/17The decision about the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Awards for the academic year 2016/17 will be advised on 15 March 2016.

By the way, here is my track:

    Program: Physics M.Sc.
    Applied: Dec 4, 2015
    ESOP Interview: None
    Acceptance email: March 2, 2016
Acceptance letter, by mail: March 7, 2016
    ESOP Result: ???

  5. Hey,

Adding more information to the missing credits, I want to say that today I received my letter (admitted the 2rd and arrived the 7th but I live in a small spanish town far away from the capital) and I am sure that I lacked at least 4 credits in mathematics courses (applied for MSc Physics) and in the letter it is stated that I required NO extra credits in order to take part in the programme.

Therefore, I am totally convinced that they count them in a nice a friendly way.

@canas Relax! When I had my ESOP interview a couple of weeks ago, the professor told me that I'm definitely admitted to both physics master's programs (i.e. the joint master in high energy physics and their "general purpose" one). Yet I'm still waiting for the official letter to arrive. So no reply at this point most certainly doesn't mean you're rejected! Just give them some more time ...

So you have already received an email from the ETH, don't you? Congrats! Staying physics at ETH is one of my dreams

I honestly don't think the "withdraw" button has anything to do with the final decision. When I checked my application four days ago, I couldn't see the button either. However, I got an offer two days later. So I guess it just indicates that your application is being reviewed by the Admission Office. Hope this helps!

I really appreciate that you took your time to help us !!!

Agreed. I'm feeling better though, because everyone who applied to Robotics, systems and control seems to have the button disappeared. It seems unlikely (but possible) they we're all rejected.

I'm not gonna start to panic until Friday next week. Moreover, if the disappeared withdraw bottom meant "rejection", somebody would already realized that in previous years, doesn't it?

Let's see if there is somebody that may help us regarding the bottom issue...

look closely, email received day is in February

I cannot take a screenshot I don't know why, but I swear than in the result page there are people who get accepted that received their confirmation in March (and they posted them in March) for different programs, Physics for instance.

Think that even if you get accepted or rejected, you will received an email from them. There are people that in 2016 have already been rejected and they received the information sooner than others. I do not know exactly why for someones it takes longer than for others, but I do not believe that just because we are at 19th Feb we cannot hear an admission from them.

On the other hand, It is true that this year we have not heard from the ESOP interviews... and last years that meant no ESOP at all. That would be more worrying.

We need to take it easy, because if not, we may go crazy during wait time.

Anyone accepted to ETH's Master in distributed systems? There are so many CS Masters acceptance posters on results section, i'm literally freaking out, looks like i am rejected :(

I am in the same situation as you are right now... I am so annoyed that there are only CM admissions in the result page... I haven't heard anything from any physicist applying to the Physics MSc.... Guess we only need to wait, although the time pass by and I get even more annoyed every sec...

  11. I would like to point out also another hint in this withdraw bottom issue. My partner has already been admitted to ETH three weeks ago, and he is able to see the withdraw bottom. He has just confirmed me that.

@rehab-robotics, I still believe that maybe the withdraw bottom is not related to admission/rejection... Let's see if there is somebody who has been rejected that can confirm this theory

If you were accepted and the withdraw button is still there, then I feel like I'm probably already marked "rejected" in the system and therefore can't withdraw my application.

Can anyone else, accepted or rejected, confirm this?

I have no answer about admission from ETH Zurich, but my withdraw button is still available...

Maybe it is because your application in currently being reviewed, and not "rejected" yet. Cheer up!!!!

Can someone here help me? I want to apply for Masters in Civil Engineering, at ETH Zurich. But unfortunately my bachelor degree in civil Engineering, is lacking more than 30 credits compared with the bachelor degree at ETH Zurich. My question is should I try to apply,is there another alternative, or shouldnt I even bother cause there is no chance. I would really appreciate an answer.

I am afraid that only you can decide this... I know that ETH Zurich is quite restrictive about their requisites, so if you are lacking more than 30 ECTS it will be highly probable that you get rejected... However, you can always give it a chance because they may be "friendly" when counting ECTS. For instance, I know people that lack around 10 ECTS of requisites for the BSc in Physics, and they got accepted without conditions of taking that courses in Zurich.

I know that EPFL is not that strict as ETH Zurich, and both are great institutions, so if you want to be extra-sure, have a look to the requisites EPFL asks for.
