  1. @speechie217 I've looked but I can't find one, so I don't think anyone has yet.
  2. No problem! My class and the classes before us have all been really small, but they decided to switch things up so the junior class has around 70 people! But, at the open house they talked about how to get grad assistantships because they don't automatically award them to people. Dr. Chleboun said there are some positions available through our specific department, but many people have also gotten assistantships in other ones as well. She gave out a paper with a link to view and apply to available positions. Here's the link: http://www.siue.edu/graduatestudents/postings.shtml She also said you may want to call and check with different departments to see if there were some that just weren't posted. As for externship opportunities, they said that the externships are in the final semester, and we will be placed in both an 8 week medical externship and an 8 week school externship. That semester we only have one class, which is a "hybrid" and it's mostly online with some meeting times on campus to make things easier. The location of the placements tend to be within a 60 mile radius of the campus (including St. Louis and a little more North), and they said they are willing to work with students to try to find one in the area you want. I also want to let you know that Illinois' budget issues were discussed since it is a public university, our department and school are doing pretty well right now, but you may still want to look into it for yourself. If you want to know anything else, let me know.
  3. I have enjoyed undergrad here and I've liked most of my professors too. You can tell that they actually care about the students and do their best to be available to everyone. I haven't had any problems if I needed extra help or just to talk. Also some of them have pretty unique research interests; I believe one of them is doing research about working with transgender clients. I've also appreciated that my class is very small (about 25 people), so it's also pretty close knit and the current grad classes seem small too. Hopefully, my answers weren't too vague, but I'll try to remember to ask about funding and externships.
  4. I actually already accepted my offer here since it was the most convenient option for me in regards to the location, price, and I already have a feel for how things work here. But I can definitely let you know how it goes. Is there anything specific you want to know about?
  5. Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) has an open house for accepted students this Friday, March 25. I already go here for undergrad and was accepted, so I'm planning on attending this. Is anyone else planning on coming?
  6. If they're a candidate you should be fine, but one of my professors told us that it may be a more complicated and lengthy process to get your CCCs because you have to submit more paperwork and they have to thoroughly check all of your coursework.
  7. If anyone was waiting to hear back from Purdue, it looks like they're starting to send out emails notifying people. The email tells you to check for the decision in your portal. Good luck to everyone who applied there!
  8. @giles217Oh, ok. I might be wrong, the way they have the deadlines on the website is a little confusing. But It wouldn't hurt to contact them like you said.
  9. @giles217Both ASHA and Hampton's websites say June 1. Here's where I found it: http://www.asha.org/edfind/details.aspx?id=4mMnyFCIIs3YGJnbqcc3wQ== and http://gradcoll.hamptonu.edu/page/Admission-Requirements @slpdee I don't think it being an HBCU will make it harder to get in, I know of people of all races going to HBCU's. It is mainly black people who attend but I think at this point that has more to do with others being uncomfortable or unsure about going to a predominately black school. Plus, if you look at the avg GRE and GPA on edfind and yours are on the higher end or better, I doubt being another race will make them think twice about admitting you. And if you don't get in, it's only a $35 app fee unlike many others. I think SCSU's is only $25!
  10. I bet you do have a chance to get in where you applied, this whole process just seems to mess with everyone's confidence. But, just in case I know that Hampton University's deadline is June 1 and South Carolina State University's is June 15, if you don't mind going to an HBCU. So, you'd obviously have a lot of time to see if you need or want to apply. I was originally gonna apply to these schools later in the process, but surprisingly got accepted where I currently go. Good luck!
  11. Randomly checked my email and I got an acceptance from SIUE (Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville)!! I'm so happy cause it's where I currently attend and I'm gonna be able to save quite a bit going here at least having in-state tuition.
  12. So I just called and I am officially in!!!! They just had issues with the subject and attachments not being attached at first. I'm excited, but it's still hard to believe, cause I've been freaking out about not getting in anywhere. Thanks to those who said congrats! And @cway I applied to the full time regular track.
  13. Hey, I've been checking these boards and the results board obsessively for awhile like a few others. I finally decided to join cause NAU is really confusing me and I didn't see anyone else post about it. Today I received several emails from NAU. The first saying I was accepted, the next saying to recall the previous one, then another acceptance, and another recall (all within the same hour at around 5pm). Finally, I received another acceptance at about 6pm.. no recall so far and it looked slightly different from the previous ones. I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up until I can give them a call tomorrow, but was wondering has this happened to anybody else?
