  1. Congrats to all who have been accepted into programs! Exciting! I am so ready to hear (anything, everything, all the things) this week. Applied to 8- only heard back from 2 with the other 6 being programs that have been radio silent so far. I am ready, I am ready, I am ready! How's everyone feeling?
  2. Any word over on Draft from Irvine for fiction? I know they have hard core secrecy requests so not sure if posts would even make it to the boards...
  3. https://graduatecollege.boisestate.edu/howtoapply/ Click Apply, then enter your info. Mine just says: Submitted
  4. I'm not on Draft but a few people here are and they all implied it took some waiting. Not very helpful! But I hear you in the whole OCD component! We write- we have trained ourselves that we are in control of the story yet in this scenario we're all subjected to the waiting game. A bit unbearable
  5. It was a good joke! Pretty sure no news on schools makes me snarky as hell. Cheers to all and good luck to everyone as we head into a weekend.
  6. Yeah I hoped it was a joke too...
  7. Hey great info! I don't think I quite realized that some schools give funding to some applicants even if the program is not fully funded for all. Good to know for future years if the need arises. I've lived in NYC and cost of living is extremely high. But there are ways to make it work if the reward (living in NYC) is high enough for the individual Also, think of it this way - you are paying to be surrounded by our community- a world of writers (what a gift!) and while not necessarily a requirement for writing success, definitely still a perk. I imagine this is a huge contributing factor for many writers when deciding to educate themselves in NYC. Also, with 2K a month - it would be doable. Roommates, of course, but doable.
  8. This may be the first day I wish I was working versus having the holiday off. At least with work I'm too busy to be checking the status of everything. I'm still swimming in the land of hearing nothing. Applied to 8 schools, all which have not notified. Starting to look forward to a denial at least I'm curious about those who have applied to non-funded or partially funded programs. I understand the fully-funded programs are harder to get into (almost impossible) but would people really spend masses amount of money on an advanced art degree? Are people just independently wealthy or is it worth it to some in order to have the graduate school experience? Is it a younger mentality? I've been out of school for 5 years so the idea of debt and a somewhat financially stable future may just be more of a reality for me. Or do some truly see it as a valid choice? Just curious here ... and trying to distract myself from all the uncertainty. Thoughts, anyone?
  9. Thanks for the information. Funny how we all want as much information as possible and yet we still don't believe anything until we hear yes or no directly. I appreciate the update though! How's everyone doing in terms of dealing with stress?
  10. Any update on this? Anyone over on Draft have any information to suggest if these calls were legit or trolls?
