  1. Thanks for asking. Being waitlisted is a humbling experience. I had high expectations but the committee felt some were stronger in building their case. I'm hoping my background is needed for this particular class should someone decide not to enroll. However, given the few Mason MPAs admitted, I'm not confident. :-( It's hard to imagine a Mason MPA not enrolling or the committee feeling I'm the right fit for the class. It would take a miracle to achieve everything I'd hoped during this cycle. Haven't decided what I'll do if I'm not admitted this year. I'm sure I'll figure something out. Can't do anything until HKS gets back to us waitlisted folks. This entire process is a learning experience. Fingers and toes crossed until mid-April. Again, congrats! Quite an awesome position to be in. :-)
  2. That's great! You must be one if a kind. ;-)
  3. Waitlist folks coping well? ;-) Can't do much but sit and wait.
  4. Congrats! Best wishes!
  5. Congrats and best wishes
  6. Fingers crossed for you!
  7. You've just blessed someone. Did you not apply for fellowships? Best wishes!
  8. I think the waitlist is short.., probably even shorter for the Mason MPA. It's hard to imagine someone in that program turning down an offer.. But I saw that someone waitlisted last year for Masons was admitted. So fingers and toes crossed.
  9. Thank you! Keeping all fingers and toes crossed! ;-) Best wishes! I'm a Masons MPA applicant. HKS is the only school I applied to, so stakes are high. I'm hoping I'm blessed with the opportunity to join the other Mason fellows and entire HKS community.
  10. Waitlisted for Mid-Career MPA! Excited but now the wait continues! However, will resume normal life (workouts, reading/studying and social outings) until further notice. All fingers, toes and eyes crossed until then. ;-)
  11. Yes! Thank you! Congrats to you! :-) I celebrate with you from afar!
  12. Thank you! Cheers! I just have to wait much longer. However, I resume normal life from today! If I'm in, great! If not, will have big decisions to make, including, should I reapply. Not thrilled about going through this process again.
  13. Thank you!
  14. Waitlisted!
  15. Youll do fine! Don't panic yet. See if others start posting. Does WWS give result regardless of outcome?
  16. Thanks! :-) I'll lay on my couch for a few more hours. No more re-reading essays though. :-) Hoping March 11th is release date.
  17. Sorry, no meaningful update. Just my thoughts. ;-) Have way too much time on my hands this week... putting everything on hold (except work) until decisions are released. No workout and social activities. Sitting here rereading my essays. Bummed I didn't mentioned any student organisations/journals/centers I plan to involve and/or hopefully take some sort of leadership role. Its too late, but regretted not mentioning any, despite wanting to be involve with the following: China Society LGBTQ Caucus North Korea Study Group (due to work in the country and research) Graduate Student Council (due to my background in Law, IR, Business and Education) Korea Caucus India Caucus Pakistan Caucus Black Student Union Christian Fellowship Human Rights (centre) Asia Caucus Education (*PEPG) Would be nice to start a Caribbean Caucus. My rejection last time was due to "fit and timing." Praying these are not issues this time around. Promise this is my last post until admission decisions are released. back to watching travelogue for my possible summer trip if denied admission. Cheers!
  18. *bump* Im guessing most of you are MPP applicants. Any MC/MPA or MPA Masons applicants? Also, thinking how it'll be hard to open the 'check your status' email. I'm guessing March 11th (next Friday) the wait will be over. -HKS hopeful-
  19. Thank you! Best wishes to you!
  20. Thanks! It's website (course offerings). Figured the earlier I start reading, the more events I could attend and student organizations I could join, this fall...that's if accepted. Someone asked yesterday if I regret only applying to HKS? No regret at all! If denied admission, I'll see it as the universe telling, no more classrooms needed to achieve goals... Even though it will be a tough swallow.
  21. Well, I've told myself it's good information to learn regardless of outcome. Dreamt last night I was third on the waitlist. Which means waiting much longer for an outcome. :-( dreams dreams dreams, I tell ya
  22. Hahaha! I sometimes wish I was still working on my doctoral dissertation. It would at least distract me from rereading my essays for the 50th time, fretting over the one typo And hitting refresh on HKS' blog and counting hours awaiting the next blog update. Good luck to you too.
  23. Thanks! I did mention that I was a reapplicant. That's it. I started prepping for HKS in 2012 -- studying its programs, religiously reading its blog, sat in on a couple of courses, and spoke with students who told me apply. I applied in 2013. Decided not reapply in 2014 in order to do soul searching about whether I truly needed this. After speaking again with alumni, who encouraged me to give it another shot, and seeing the need for talented policy makers and a national leader in my country(I was approached by the leader of my country), I came to the conclusion that I should reapply as I transition my career. Still not sure I'll be admitted., however, I've aleady started saying goodbye to some friends, reviewing Econ texts, downloading course syllabus and some readings to get a head start in courses I want to take and looking at Harvard housing options. I'm also looking at European travel sites because I plan to visit some European countries if I'm not admitted. I'll need a getaway.
  24. Check your PM! ;-)
  25. I was optimistic until this week. however, the more I read the hks blog, I discover there are numerous grounds to reject my application. No plans to reapply so this is it if I'm rejected. This has been a 4 year process.
