I will be going to Germany, and my primary affiliation is the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Anyone else on here going to be in the area? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for finding housing this far in advance as suggested in the letter? Thanks so much and good luck to all.

Hi Adam, I was accepted at Buffalo as well, I sent an email to David Felder who said there was very little funding available, but I have not received any official word on it. I will not be attending as I received an assistantship at Eastman, if I were you I would contact David Felder directly. - Jason

Hey everyone, I have been admitted to the Eastman School of Music as a PhD candidate, no word on financial aid/fellowship yet though. Regardless of what amount they decide to offer me, I have decided to attend, which means I will almost certainly be turning down my acceptances at Buffalo and at Temple University. I am also waiting to hear from CCM (I interviewed in early Feb.), but I will be turning that down as well if I am made an offer. Hopefully this will open up some spots for other folks! Just heard through the grapevine that Eastman should be sending out their final decisions for Composition tomorrow, after saying before that it should have been last week. I am freaking nervous!

Soclose on Jason's computer, not realizing Jason is signed in---- First accept today - Iowa. Waiting for other schools seems that much easier now.

Hi Timothy, Maurice Wright originally contacted me on Feb. 5, and I took the exam via email a few days later, about 100 multiple choice questions and a writing sample on a piece of your choosing. They are nominating me for a fellowship, but no official word yet on specifics. I don't know about whether they have made other offers, I have three good friends that are there currently and two of them are on good fellowships, one is currently adjunct and might be starting his doctorate in the fall. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, applying for PhD/DMA in Composition. Here are my stats: Temple and Buffalo = yes CCM and Eastman = interviewed, waiting to hear back Princeton, Cornell, Yale = no Does anyone know much about the program at Buffalo? David Felder has told me it is unlikely that they have substantial funding available for me but I haven't received official word from the music department, just a generic letter from the university stating my acceptance. Thanks!
