Has anyone else been accepted to Samford? Has anyone accepted their offer? Anyone here a current student that has anything to say about the program?

That's crazy they are making you sign something that says you won't rescind your acceptance. What does it say are the stipulations? They are requiring you to pay Fall tuition? If I rescind my acceptances, I just lose my nonrefundable deposit.

long story short: I have just finished my bachelor's last fall from CSUF. I also just took a SLPA course from Loma Linda and currently waiting on my license to be able to work as a SLPA. I plan on applying for grad school for next fall (or summer, if i can get into schools with a part-time track). here are some schools I'm thinking of applying to:
University of Iowa
University of Washington
Portland State University
Northern Arizona University
University of the Pacific
If any of you have been a SLPA prior to applying for grad school and have gotten into any of these schools, I would appreciate your input. My #1 concern are recommendation letters. I haven't made much "connections" with the professors during undergrad, I made a few but they were my general ed professors. It's obviously a bit too late for me to try and get to know them because I am done with undergrad. Where did you get your recommendations from? are SLP supervisors good to get those letters from? Also, definitely need help in study tips for the GRE, organizing grad applications, and how to do the statement of purpose.
HELPPPP.
these are the only questions I could think of for now. LOL. but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! thank you!!
I have a 3.4, 303 GRE and worked as a SLPA for one year. I got into NAU's summers only program. NAU does allow you to apply to both full time track and summers only track with the same application. I got into 4 other programs in Texas, Arizona, Alabama, and Tennessee. I advise to apply to different states and some "safety" schools that don't get as many applicants. I got one undergrad professor for LOR, my clinical supervisor/teacher for the SLPA program, and my current SLPA boss. Study tip for GRE, I used Magoosh. It's 100% online and you can do a little bit a day. Worked great! Raised my score 13 points in just a few months of studying. Good luck!

Anyone else doing the UT-El Paso writing prompt tonight? I have a Skype interview with OLLU next Tuesday, and am still waiting to hear from UTA.
I did the writing prompt tonight. Very broad topic that I had to ponder for awhile. I hope I did well as I only wrote 4 paragraphs. Still waiting to hear back from most other programs in Texas.

I'm going! Do you know if the interview will last the entire 90 min slot?
They said the full 90 I think. Are you doing the first interview or the second one? I'll be in the second.

I have a 3.3 overall and a 3.4 last 60 and received an acceptance at Midwestern University. I also have two other interviews this upcoming week. People with lower gpa's do not give up!

They will ask you questions about hypotheticals what would you do in this situation. They will ask you to talk about yourself. And you will be given a writing prompt and 20 minutes to answer the question again another what would you do. I interviewed for Glendale and was accepted yesterday!

No I haven't heard anything from them. Did they send them out via email?

Has anyone heard anything about these interviews? It's a group interview discussing a research article. Incredibly nervous but want it to go well!

I am interviewing at Samford on February 29th so I'll let ya'll know how it goes! West Texas A&M said they will mail out notifications March 1st. I am interviewing at Our Lady of the Lake University (San Antonio) Friday March 4th. It's a group interview and they sent us a 12 page article to discuss. Anyone know anything about those kind of interviews??

I am interviewing at Samford University (Alabama) next Monday the 29th of February. I received an email from Jacksonville University saying they will send out notifications mid march for first round acceptances. Haven't heard from any other schools.

I was interviewed at 3 different places. I was waitlisted at 2, and accepted to 1. I was later accepted to the other 2 I was waitlisted at. Good luck!
