I am still waiting for an appeal decision (I applied last Tuesday)

Columbia does allow family members to student day but they said it's a first come first serve basis, as there are limited seats. They also mentioned that the students /family members will be separated at some point. For those who appealed financial aid, how long did it take to hear a response on the appeal decision?

Has anyone appealed their scholarship WITHOUT having a scholarship from another school? I haven't applied to other grad schools (aside from Fordham and have yet to hear back on a decision).

I haven't, but I barely submitted my fafsa last week. I was told by financial aid I should hear back by Thursday.

@jillchristine thanks for the response! That's not bad considering how close you are to campus. Is anyone else scared about the loans/cost of tuition? Columbia is one of my top schools but I'm wondering if I would actually attend due to the cost. I'm also wondering if people care about the ivy league name at a grad level? It seems like a lot of people are suggesting a CUNY school over Columbia due to the affordability...

@jillchristine would you mind sharing how much the rent is? I live in Astoria, Queens and pay $900 a month (it's a house with 2 other roommates).

Hi everyone, Congratulations on everyone's acceptance. And to those who have not heard, I know what the wait feels like! I received my acceptance via email around 530pm today for the reduced residency program. I applied 1/4 but my application was completed towards the end of January (was waiting on a LOR).
