  1. Oh well. Congrats @jamesprongs101 and glad I was a finalist. I also found out I got into NYU, so life is still pretty damn good. @newengland1 sounds like we might be classmates! Did you talk to them about financial aid alreasy? I wasn't sure how to go about that.
  2. I can't imagine that they would choose an all male cohort in the age of Kilroys and The Count and everything that's been going on. That said, I identify mostly male and certainly present male so who knows... Also, I feel like if they have had a class that's all female, they can't possibly care too obsessively about balance, so the idea of them rebalancing the other way seems weird. I really really want to get in, but I would hate to think I'm taking a more qualified woman's spot. Also, did you both get the email from James Bundy? That seemed super weird and out of the blue.
  3. I'm coming in Thursday night so it sounds like I'll miss you. But maybe we'll see each other in the fall! (or not. I'm pretty sure I have zero chance but I'm pumped to have made it this far) @newengland1 I'd love to hear about your interview experience at NYU. I just had mine today and it was super weird. It was with Daniel Goldfarb, the playwriting head, who seems super cool. He talked a lot about the program and answered all my questions, but he only asked me one question and even that was barely a real question (about my favorite playwrights right now). Nothing about the piece or my background or why I wanted to be a playwright. And the whole thing last 28 minutes. I'm not sure if I just totally bombed it or if they're not trying to use these interviews to get to know writers? It was all super weird.
  4. Long time listener, first time caller (or what you will) I applied last year to a couple schools and no luck but I applied more generally this year and I have an interview with NYU and with Yale. I'm super excited and terrified. I'd love to ask any of the people who have had interviews, what questions they asked you? I have no idea what they're going to ask and obviously it'll be different for everyone but any insight would be really appreciated.
