Greetings folks! After nearly four months of hearing nothing, I was finally accepted to the U! I just graduated with my BSW from Eastern Michigan last Sunday and I got my acceptance a couple days later. Lol. Question though... for those of you attending Michigan how long did you have to pay your enrollment deposit? I'm considering asking for an extension. Has anyone done this? For those who haven't yet heard back from Michigan, there is still time for you to be admitted too. I'm sending positive vibes! Even if you don't get in, you just saved yourself a TON of debt. I'm a native Michigander and I still think U of M is ridiculously pricey. Internet high fives to all of you!

@umichMSW Are you thinking about requesting an interview? I think this process makes many of us applicants anxious. There is just so much uncertainty. Earlier this week, I called and requested an in person interview for April 6th. I'm supposed to meet with Erin and Lauren. So, I'm curious to see how interviews go as well. Lol. Right now, I intern at a non profit in Ann Arbor with a bunch of U of M interns who have been great about sharing their experience with the admissions process. I know one girl who didn't receive a decision until the summer. It seems normal to have to wait a few months or so for this school but that doesn't make things any less stressful. Lol. @ BrendonSW You seem to always leave helpful information. I appreciate that you're a part of this thread. Oh, I meant to say "thanks for the positive vibes" about 20 posts ago. Lol.

@RCtheSS Ugh. This process is so frustrating. I agree with you about the wait listing. If that's what has happened, I wish they'd say that. I just want to know an answer so that I can stop waiting. Lol.

@RCtheSS I'm in the same boat that you're in, RC. I called the admissions office on Monday and I was given the generic "We're still processing applications speech." Granted, it was done very nicely but, unfortunately, it didn't help much. I applied on January the 4th and I was told that I probably wouldn't receive any further communication from admissions until about a month or so from now. If you do plan to call admissions, call in the morning because they're most likely to answer fairly quickly. Good luck to you and fingers crossed that you'll be admitted soon! Also, congrats to everyone who has already been accepted!

Greetings and salutations! I've been anonymously lurking around TheGradCafe site for a while. This is the first Michigan MSW thread that I have seen for Fall 2016 and I was excited to see how many people have heard back from U of M already. I applied on 1/4 and my application says complete on my Wolverine Access page. However, an admissions decision has not yet been made for my application. I'm a BSW student who's graduating from Eastern Michigan University this April. I applied to both EMU and U of M for Fall 2016. At U of M, I applied for the Geriatric Scholarship Program. At this point, because I haven't heard anything, I'm considering that I didn't get into the program and I'm probably waitlisted or rejected as an applicant. Still, I'm utilizing a Strengths-Based perspective on this one. I have a Social Work experience and a 4.0 GPA. I think I'm a fairly strong applicant for Michigan. If not, that's okay, I'll end up where I'm supposed to be. I'll try and visit this thread sometimes. I wish you all hefty financial aid packages and Michigan admissions! Congrats to those who've already been admitted!
