You guys still haven't heard back really??

No, I have not. Iris sent a letter to me saying I am almost there two weeks ago, but still nothing. I contact an applicant and she said the graduate office has labor shortage problem. Iris told her that there are about 10 eHealth applications still waiting for processing.

I still have not got my offer yet...Is there anyone in the same boat?

Same here, and I know there is the other one with the same situation as us.

Thanks for the info and you are correct. I reached Iris by phone yesterday and she told me more offers are still on the way.

OK, she told me the same thing about two weeks ago. According to some discussions of Mac's others program (ex: MPH), Mac's system seems having technical issues since some of applicants' data were missing. I really hope this is not the reason we have to wait for so long or we may stay in this situation until they fix everything.

Same here. I dropped an email but got no reply. I guess we can only wait for the moment. Lets update each other here if we get anything in the mail.

+1, I sent a email yesterday but got no response, too. It is a hard time to endure ...

Hi. I am unable to accept the offer for McMaster through Mosaic. The link provided with my admission letter just continues to load. When I sign in on my application directly using my email address on Mosaic, it shows my application status as "submitted". Am I missing something? What did you guys see when you used the link provided with the official letter email?

Hi, May I ask you when did you get the offer letter?

The Mosaic system system seems pretty new and some functions are not tested well. I encountered several system bugs, too. You may need to write a letter to Iris ...

Frustrating it is ... I can't do anything but wait, sigh.

Ahhhh okay, at least I am not the only one! I wanted to email and ask but wasn't sure if I should. -_-

I have not sent a mail to Iris since I guess we are all waiting for the graduate office.

However, if there is no progress next week, I will send a mail to her and beg her to push the office a little more. Haha.

Any news yet ?? I had some rejects this week from some US universities...SO need a really good news this April now !!!

No news ... And according to this post, we may wait until mid-May @.@

I think my hope is fading since there are some offers already given and yet  too many competitors for the remained position.

University Of British Columbia (UBC) ( ECE ) Electrical And Computer Engineering, Masters (F16) Other via Other on 13 Apr 2016 I 13 Apr 2016
    • To the poster below, I have contacted the UBC several times. first time I contacted them in late February and they told me that the result will be out in the end of March. Second time I contacted them a week ago, and they told me that they have received 900 application for Master degree in ECE department and the result will be out in mid- May. And I have applied for Analog Integrated Circuit Design Track....What's your track?

I am still waiting.... My interview was a week after you guys and maybe that explains the delay.

I think it will be beneficial to start those computer science courses going, so we do not need to worry about it when the program starts.

I am guessing that it takes about two weeks for the final offer, so mine would be sent out around 4/16 ...

Instead of learning coding, I may have to start learning Canada's health policy and so on ...

that is because hl7 is mostly based on c++/java

I like python to be honest. i have no expereince with rubi at all.

i dont know how they inform ppl that they have to do the courses...i never got told, while i dont have a background in computer science, i took some IT courses and am a PC enthusiast anyways, so i would say i have a informal background. i guess ill email iris and see if i need to do those  ourses

did you get an official offer yet?

join the fb group, i am just waiting for more people to join before we start posting stuff

No, I have not received the official letter ...

I think maybe there are related HL7 Python package already. (I am a Python fan, too)

It's not a bad news for me that most of HL7 is based on C++/Java since I mainly use C/C++. haha

  9. I have computer science background and I am willing to help those who are trying to have some computer courses before the beginning of the fall term. Just send me a mail if you have questions and let's discuss (no answer guaranteed, though :P). BTW, I thought it may be more helpful to learn Python or Rubi or R for eHealth fields, but the webpage recommends C++/Java ...

  10. I also got the letter that said I am prompted to Graduate Studies office and wait for approval, right after my interview (so soon!).

I guess the Graduate Studies office suspends the process till everything is done because there are still applicants like me.

Hope I am the last one so that the office can start sending out the formal acceptance letter.

So I ended up hearing back yesterday that I was recommended to the grad dept for admission to the course-based stream, instead of the thesis-stream for which I had initially applied but that is totally fine with me. Once I hear back from the grad dept hopefully confirming enrolment, I am 100% accepting and going forward with that process so I'm looking forward to meeting everyone who ends up joining me :)

I'm thinking the Easter Monday was probably the day after they finished the majority of the interviews and sent out their alternate offers. Someone mentioned that Iris had met with the grad department today, on the Tuesday. I'm sure she brought forward the names of people who asked to be considered first, so I would be optimistic about hearing back tomorrow or at the very least on Thursday.

Congrats! and hopefully I am not left behind since I am the guy who was not in the "majority of the interviews" Q.Q

I just got my acceptance from Mac. I was honestly a bit surprised that UofT didn't call me for at least an interview. I called them and I was told that my application was not looked at because I applied as an international student. I wish they had mentioned somewhere that local students will get preference over international students. I received my Permanent Residence status in Canada a month ago. I could have informed them of this earlier. Now I am being told that most of the offers have already been made and there is not much space left in the program. The admin assistant said she will inform the director of my status change to see if they could review my application. I really wanted to get into UofT and now I am really upset that this is happening.

Sigh! I think I will accept Mac - even if UofT looks at my application now, they may not be able to send me a response by the time I need to respond to Mac.

I know some programs have different acceptance rate between international students and domestic students. Maybe they find the quota of international students are already full and stop reviewing international applicants.

It seems that I am the last one to be interviewed, my date is 4/2. I hope I am not too late since most of you will have received the official letter then. If the quota of Mac is already full by that time, I am doomed.  > <"

I only applied to Mac and no other grad program since really wanted this one. (In hindsight I should also have applied to U of T as a backup but oh well). :P

I personally chose to apply at Mac for several reasons. One of them is location convenience. I also went to see Iris last year regarding this program to ask some questions and she was so helpful and kind and passionate about the program which made me feel like I would be comfortable there, she went above and beyond to follow up with me when I had questions or needed any help afterwards over email. I liked the fact that the program at Mac is relatively small (about 45 people). I am not sure about U of T program size but I like the idea of knowing everyone in your class very well and being able to make connections in this kind of a close-knit setting (friendship and professional as well). Although if U of T is bigger there may be more opportunities if you meet the right people depending on preference. I also was very intrigued by the 8 month co-op since I feel like practical experience is the most valuable aspect of getting a job in the future (me coming from a nursing background where my previous placements landed me my current job) and the longer I have placement, the more practical experience. Also as someone from a healthcare background and Mac being known for healthcare programs for me it may be beneficial to be at Mac in some ways, versus someone with a computer science or business background may benefit from the reputation of U of T. I also had asked my interviewers what they liked about Mac and how it stood out as compared to other programs since they were both alumni. They told me they liked the 8 month co-op and also the fact that Mac had a specific business stream which other universities typically don't have. They said that gives you an opportunity to take business courses and learn maybe about management or something related to that area rather than just healthcare & computer science. I guess bottom line is I dont know too much about the U of T program but those are some of the reasons I chose Mac.

I met several technical issues of the online-apply system and Iris helped me a lot. She is really a warm and helpful person. The intern opportunity is pretty attractive since I want to have a job asap. It is nice to know people from different professional areas since I am a software programmer and have no much chance to meet people from business/healthcare field.

Yeah I emailed then called a couple days after. I think she will reply the email, she might be scheduling dates for everyone.

Hopefully ... I am worrying about my interview since all you guys have finished. However, I am glad that all of you get admissions.  :-)

Anyway, good luck to me. haha

Hey, have you heard back regarding the interview date yet?

nah ... I sent a letter to Iris and if she does not reply me today, I would call her.

I remember that you said you called her and asked her about the interview date, right?

How do you ask her about the date? did she make the appointment with you right after you called her?
