  1. Anyone get in for Comp Lit at NC Chapel Hill or hear anything about it? I'm dying to hear back from them too.
  2. Hello, I've been accepted to University of Oregon for a PhD in Comp Lit. I know it's a fairly good school, but I also have one other offer so far, which is also tempting. I'm trying to decide between going to a fully funded masters program, or going for a fully funded PhD at Oregon. If one gets a PhD from University of Oregon, are the teaching opportunities good? Anyone who's been accepted or who's attended Oregon in the past, please let me know your opinions. Thanks!
  3. Hullo! I've also been accepted with funding to Dartmouth College, and don't know much myself about it. It seems like a good school, obviously, but I'm not sure I'll go because it's only one year--that means that if you want to apply to PhD programs, you'd have to start re-applying within 4 months, and I only just finished off a crazy application season! What's your subfield? Nice to virtually meet you. I didn't really answer your question in any real way, haha. Congrats, though!
  4. Hey, good luck to you with the phone interview! I also found the tone of the email to be somewhat off-putting.
  5. Hi, I also got an email asking me for an interview a few days ago, but the interviews are by phone. I can also see that they sent it to four other people. I replied and asked the program assistant whether it is standard procedure to interview prospective applicants, or whether they interview a selected pool (I was trying to be smooth), and she replied with an equally smooth answer, that "we interview candidates we are interested in." So I'm not sure what that person meant who wrote that it was a generic email thing. I applied for Masters only, however, so I don't know--maybe the protocol is different if you applied for a PhD. I'm pretty nervous about the phone interview--feel like I don't know anything!
