  1. My referee just contacted me and said that his link to submit the reference letter is no longer available. Does anyone know if there is a time limit to submit it? I sent it to him ages ago so he would have plenty of time, but I thought it just had to be in before the deadline? Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to contact ORPAS but of course they're on holidays until tomorrow and I'm sure there will be a huge amount of calls..
  2. Hello again everyone, I'm just doing my ORPAS application now because school was so busy. What do they mean by "site population" in UofT's personal submissions in the volunteer experience section? I wish they'd make these a little more clear..
  3. @hopefulspeechie52 Thanks, I guess I'll call after the weekend. Are you an Ontario school though? I wonder if that's why it's not showing up for me. I'm in Sask.
  4. @hopefulspeechie52 I just don't have that option anywhere. I attached a screenshot but maybe I should just call ORPAS. I'm already emailing them about a whole bunch of other issues so it's really annoying haha
  5. @hopefulspeechie52 Hey, I don't see anywhere to do transcripts requests on there... I'm not an Ontario school btw if that matters. I've put in everything but all the prerequisites and the extra documents like CV and whatever. But I've filled out all the school information and everything else. I already have one school sending transcripts by mail, but the other I'll have to wait for this semester to be over. But where is this transcripts request page?? I'm so confused by this system haha
  6. Is anyone filling out ORPAS and getting You have not added a participating postsecondary institution in your "Academic Background". under the transcripts section?? I have entered my schools into the education section and I can't find anywhere else to enter anything... What does that mean and do I have to do anything? Because the transcripts will be sent directly to ORPAS.
  7. Hey everyone, I'll be applying again this year. I only applied to Alberta last year because I only had prereqs for there and my GPA was very low. What I'd like to know is how everyone calculates their GPA? You all seem to know, but don't all the schools calculate it differently? If I look on the chart that ORPAS gives for my school (Regina), I can kind of guess what mine would be, but it's different depending on if I convert each class to 4.0 scale and then average them, or if I average all my percentages and then convert. Also, that's just for ORPAS. It sounds like Alberta is different. How are you all figuring it out?
  8. Thanks to the people who replied about getting SLP experience. Maybe I can do some research online through the UofA but I doubt it. I'll look into it though. One other thing I was wondering about was how is everyone calculating their GPA? It seems that every school does it differently. I get percentages but I also have some courses that I did through other schools which are letter grades. How do you calculate the most recent 60 credits? I tried to email UofA about but they never got back to me about it (this was FGSR or whatever, not the department). Do they convert each percentage into the 4.0 scale then average them? I just kind of applied not knowing what my average would be. It also depends if they take my marks from an exchange I did. I hoped they wouldn't because they were very bad (turns out taking classes in a foreign language is hard). Anyway, if any of you have a clue how Alberta calculates the GPA, I'd love to know. That way I can see how far I have to go to be competitive next year.
  9. I'm from Sask too, and a first time applicant. I only applied to Alberta because I didn't have the prereqs for anything else really, so I'm getting a little disappointed here too... Is this your first time to apply? What kinds of things have you been doing to get experience? It's really hard in Sask to shadow slps and there's very little opportunity to do research here I'm finding... So many SLPs said they aren't 'allowed' to take students on. I'm wondering how everyone gets these internships and such. If I don't get in this year, I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to leave Sask... I hope they send out more acceptances on Monday. It's going to be a stressful week.
