For those who got selected especially for research grants, is there any paragraph in your award letters that suggests what supported your applications . This is may help us who are thinking if re applying for 2017/2018 any pointer ? Finally the the rejection has been confirmed with an email congrats to all those who made it . I look foreard to the opening of this year's application

well I am at this point really confused but I do not want to extend my confusion into the next steps or plan B for my life and career. please If there are other funding possibilities that I might qualify for with the following criteria: a PhD candidate, female, from developing country, Already admitted to do a doctoral programme into state university in Gemrnay but no funds to continue. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO SHARE. TIA . There should be life after DAAD Rejection

PhD research grant, status : Rejected, No correspondence either from portal or mail since monday or tuesday when i noticed that sudden change from submitted to rejected . any one here to help out?

Hi pup you seem to bring on real hope to some of us still in limbo up till now I've nit received any email of portal notification rejection status still displayed

I've not had any email requesting me to check the portal too it has been rejected since Monday or Tuesday

I mean up till now there has been no other or new message both as an email notification or as an outright portal message in the last three days when I first saw application rejected this is getting me real worried others have said they got an official confirmation from DAAD within hours or at least in 24 hours any body with a more plausible information? So your status went from application submitted to selection made to reserved list ? Then you don't have any cause to worry congrats in advance

Please what does this mean? I'm also a PhD research applicant . Is a waiting list real and feasible? Could that be what you are referring to as reserved candidate? Is your status showing "reserved candidate" and did it go from application submitted to reserved candidate ? Please help with an answer I'm freaking nervous . Thanks for the update. with your findings, the process seems to be fairly understood as being in this steps: 1. All stages of Screening- 2. either Rejection / Selection Made - 3. Decision Made ( Funding or Rejection). Meaning rejection is two levels; portal rejection and confirmation email. Can someone else please engage this view point? PhD Research- DAAD, Status: Ist level Rejection as seen on portal

Still on Application rejected. No official mail from DAAD till now. I am less interested anyways. I have grieved already and nothing else will make a difference except a miracle!

Menaing all decisions are now being communicated via the portal and not via a notification to the email before portal as normal

I also applied for PhD research grant although not from North America but got a rejection yesterday. As at the last time , i checked the portal this morning , they hadnt sent in additional info or official rejection. I am afraid to open the portal again to peep in

Hmmm . so Rejection and Selection made or the back and forth of these stauses is likely to end up with outright REJECTION Meaning that only those with status reading : Research Grant Funding are most likely sure of their fate thanks a bunch for this piece of information. Best of luck to you too.

Dear xvxvxv many thanks for your support having been playing around the online portal since I knew about daad, I have been used to the tradition of Bonn sending you an email notification regarding messages or new information first and then retrieving those messages from the portal. So so when I didn't get any notification but saw a change from application submitted to Rejected in less than 24 hours of visiting the portal, I was sure taken aback. Please de if you wouldn't mind me probing further, how long was it after your status changed to selection made before you received a reply from daad and was the official rejection letter announced as a notification on your email before you retrieved the message from the portal? Or or dud you get the official rejection directly from the portal? Any contact act with anyone who had a rejection and then wait listed ? Are you considering applying for the next round?

Yes I applied from outside North America and I'm not an American . Got rejected status yesterday but still no follow up email yet

Hello Horb . I am new here but I've gleaned from last year's blog that you are really determined to get the DAaD scholarship. I wish you well but u fortunately my status sank to Rejected in less than 24 hours and that happened a day after I mildly contacted them via the portal to find out if they had sent me any message / email . However, I haven't received any notification from daad since the change in application status. Can anybody give me more info? What at is likely going to be the next step? It seems many who applied for a doctoral research svholarship were rejected again anybody on this platform whose application status changed to Rejected and still got a reversal? Has as such miracle / mystery ever happened?

Application status changing from submitted - selection made- rejected and does any body know how it went for those who were wait listed? Any one here who has been wait listed before?
