  1. Yay that's so exciting! You will be joining myself and @AnnInTO in the fall. I am very excited to start this program, although I will be missing orientation. Excited to meet you both in September!
  2. Hi, yes I am! I am planning on doing the MSW for working professionals program in PEEL through Windsor. Are you doing this program as well?
  3. Hey! This was my second time applying. After being rejected from U of T and laurier my first try, I sought better jobs that are more applicable to the field and am now spelling in geriatric research at camh and I think that was a huge help (camh is often hiring for research positions) and spent 2 years working with vulnerable populations as well. I found that really helped my resume. I'd also suggest upgrading some of your courses to bump your GPA. I know U of T looks strongly on your research methods mark. Other than that, id day be really specific in your application when answering their questions and look to see what some of the profs are researching or what they specialize in to make sure you're responses are in line with their interests. I'd highly recommend doing a bsw though if you get in touch because you'll have a much easier time getting into the 1 yr bsw afterwards and there are way more schools you can apply to Hope this helps
  4. So i haven't posted much here yet but this is my second time applying to the MSW program (rejected from everywhere my first time- went back and beefed up my resume) and so far this year... I've been accepted to the MSW program for working professionals at Windsor (PEEL campus), anyone else going there this fall? I was also wait-listed at U of T and plan to stay on the wait-list as long as possible. Finally, i was rejected a couple weeks ago from Calgary. Best of luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back or on a wait-list! I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone
  5. From what i've heard, Laurier is a lot more clinically focused and less research focused than U of T. U of T has a strong focus on research within their program (even though they are a clinical program as well, just less so than Laurier). I believe Laurier's class sizes are also smaller.
  6. According to the letter I got yesterday, they have offered 140 acceptances to people (that's all of them) already, and I believe that was the last wave of rejections to be sent out. Everyone else's letters have been mailed. The exceptions are those that are on the waitlist, and those individuals will hear back any time between now and september whether or not a spot has opened up for them specifically.
  7. Nice! Glad to see someone else who applied on here! I think I have about 4 weeks to go until I hear. But i didn't think they had an online portal, glad i'm not the only one! Did you apply to any other schools or just that Windsor one? I went to the information session for Windsor and they made it seem like most people would get in as long as they met the minimum requirements (70% average, 3 good references, 3 years + experience etc.)...i don't want to get my hopes up too high though.
  8. Where are you going to check your UWindsor application status? I cant seem to find anything about my application status on their site. Is that for the 2 year program? or the 3 year MSW for working professionals? I talked to one of the ladies working for Windsor and they said they take each application separately and will respond 6-8 weeks after your full application has been received. I thought they said they would e-mail when they've made a decision but now I cant remember. Also, has anyone else applied to Windsor's MSW for working professionals program in PEEL yet? Just wanted to try and connect with potential peers for September (not that i've heard back, still have 4-6 weeks potentially before I hear back)
  9. For those of you who applied to Windsor's 3-year MSW program (regular track, remote location) and got acceptances, how long did it take them to give you a response once all of your documents were in? I sent in my application in January, but they just received my last reference on Monday so I'm wondering when I should expect to hear back from them. They said 6-8 weeks but I'm hoping that maybe it could be shorter. I also applied to U of T but not overly hopeful that I'll get in at this point since I haven't heard back yet
