I have to admit, there is a reason that I generally avoid dating scientists...I'm not sure if I want my significant other to get turned on by the words NSF GRFP (oh, baby!). Maybe just enough so that they're excited by the extra whopping 3K a year, but not so that they're in awe of my NSF-worthy intellect *sarcasm*.

I wonder how many phone calls a day the NSF office gets....hahahaha

My vote is Tuesday at 12:37pm, Pacific Time.

My department has full funding/stipend for the whole time but the NSF would give me the freedom to do a project joint between two labs...if it's a no go, I'll probably have to pick one and that prof will fund me. It'd be nice to bring your own money and have a bit more carte blanche in terms of research!!

I continue to be staggered by the number of us browsing on a Sunday night....

This stinks, can we infer that if our page hasn't changed then we're out of the running ?

I'm so depressed - I thought I would be able to apply one more time next year and didn't realize that I might be excluded because I took time off to tech between undergrad and grad school! Makes the waiting even more excruciating...

I have been skimming this forum for a few months now and remained content to stay in the shadows...until now! I had to register JUST so that I could tell Minnesotan that he makes me LITERALLY laugh out loud. This thread has kept me entertained longer than any other grad school forum content. In fact, the Orlando Bloom Fan Club comment was SO hilarious that I had to read it aloud to a coworker. Keep up the good work, Minnesotan - if you ever come out with a DVD or YouTube video ala "Raw," let me know! In the meantime, I'll content myself to your gradcafe posts.
