  1. Hey, thanks for your reply. Did you have any publications prior to submitting your applications?
  2. I went to a mediocre public university and graduated with 3.94/4.0 GPA (magna cum laude, biology major). My GRE scores were 168/160/3.5 (Q/V/W). In terms of research experience, I've been working in a neuroscience lab as a research technician at the Scripps Research Institute for the last 9 months under an esteemed PI in our field, and he agreed to write me a great LOR if I decide to apply. I'll be pursuing a phD in neuroscience, and I am currently thinking about which schools I should apply to. I would like to stay in the SoCal region if possible so will probably apply to UCSD, UC Irvine, the Scripps Research Institute and Cal Tech, but I am open to other suggestions. Thanks!
  3. Thanks so much for the thoughtful replies, guys. I am also considering applying to BME master's programs and taking the industry route. Do you think it'll be considerably easier for me to get accepted into a bioengineering master's program with a background in molecular biology or would the criteria for master's program be almost identical to those for phD programs? Thanks, again.
  4. Hello friends, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology last spring and am currently in the process of getting ready for grad school. I was wondering how common it is for biology majors to be accepted into bioengineering phD programs. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Thank you for your reply! I will keep that in mind.
  6. I didn't keep in touch with him after I left the lab. He wasn't all that interested in training me in the first place which is the reason why I left after about one year. I could get a letter from a PI I worked with at a biotech company. Do you think it'd be helpful to switch one of the letters from a professor with his?
