  1. I suppose the only harm in asking for an update early is finding out about a rejection a little bit sooner. Then again, that's one less thing to stress about!
  2. Don't worry lambchop - I'm in a similar position. I received official acceptance, but was told funding would follow about a month and a half later. Stick with it! It depends on each school as far as postal mail acceptance. I've seen schools, i.e. UCR, not follow up by postal and use email as the sole form of communication. Best of luck!
  3. Hey gr4vity, Graduate schools are weird. Last year when I didn't get accepted into a college I applied to, they kept sending these nagging reminder emails about completing their financial aid, etc etc. Ultimately, I didn't get accepted, but for some programs, if you do get accepted, it's good to have your stuff completed because you could receive priority for funding/scholarships/and the like. So, it's certainly not an indication of admission, but it won't hurt in case you do get admitted. Best of luck!
  4. Curiosity got the better of me...I emailed all of the colleges I applied to and received one rejection (expected, but maybe they forgot about me?), a vague "applications are still active", and a "the adcom met yesterday, you'll know in 1-2 weeks." At least for one of the colleges, it's good to know the outcome -- time to start stressing on the others! Haha.
  5. I chose March 15th too as a pretty decent time frame -- especialyl since we have to let other colleges know by April 15th, right? So, I like the rest of you, will be waiting waiting waiting! I'll send an email perhaps in two weeks since it sounds like some of the posters here have had some success. Good luck to everyone!
