Has anyone contacted msu about admissions notices? Cincinnati seems to be coming this week, but was wondering if msu is also the same.

@HerbieLove i got my email from cincinnati In early jan saying that my application was complete and that the committee will meet sometime in mid january for review! I guess thats because I submitted my app early -- but yes, while my email says "will be meeting in mid-January" as opposed to "will be meeting soon", i assume its the same type of email just w updated information. If our estimations are correct, next week will be quite intense w notifications. I am no longer excited -- 100% anxiety now. Really cant wait to hear back from any one school !

@aml149 I'm still in school too, just finishing up my thesis and revising a couple publications that recently got accepted, but my oh my...the anxiety struggle is too real! Trying to remain calm and stay positive, but the nerves are far too high. In short, I totally feel for you. If I got paid a dollar for every sleepless and/or restless night I've had over this process, I'd be a rockstar.

@OptimiscallyAnxious Someone got offered an invitation for an interview from UCI -- check the other recent thread on this gradcafe forum! I assume it was sent out through email, but I checked my UCI application tracker and mine still says "being reviewed". I assume they would send them all at the same time, but i may be wrong. Did you hear back from UCI? The person who was offered the invite posted approx 10 hours ago? Meaning, it was offered yesterday to them.

Congrats! I'm still waiting for an interview (that is, if they are still notifying people). Did you get the notice via email? On my application tracker, it still says "being reviewed". @OptimiscallyAnxious i honestly didnt get a good nights sleep last night because of the anxiety! Eeks! Few more days? Does that include weekends (clear signs of anxiety)?! Haha. Cheers to both you and I on UCI!!

@HerbieLove i would rank fit first, followed by funding, then reputation, then location. As many on this forum have also said, most schools are reputable in the field and at the end of the day, its your fit w a program and faculty that is going to push you to keep going and produce excellent work. That is not to say the others aren't important-- because they most definitely are. UCI is amazing. I hope i get an interview! Honestly, id be humbled to get admitted into any one of my options -- it was a no brainer to apply to any one of the schools i submitted packages for. Hoping for the best! : )

@OptimiscallyAnxious I saw that too on their website as soon as I read your post! Agreed, I think it is rather soon -- but no complaints from me! Were you offered an interview already? Or were you just asking if anyone has been offered an interview?

@fall2016applicant Thank you for your insights about NEU! Yes, I assume that applicants will hear back sometime in late Jan/early feb! How was the interview process? What kind of things do they ask -- that is, if you know and are willing to share some common insight : ) @OptimiscallyAnxious woah! That's relatively soon...I recently got an email from UCI saying that my application is being reviewed, but nothing close to an invitation for an interview -- it was more of a "thank you for applying" and "we are evaluating applicants now" email. A general email to say the least. Given the interview dates, I expect the school to get back to its prospective students by the end of next week? Hopefully sooner... Is Irvine's interview process also an interview weekend like NE where they cut the prospective students down to a few after the interviews? And does anyone know if they pay for the flight there? Accommodations? Or is that out of pocket?

Regardless of where it was, Im super happy for all of those that got in! Kudos do you all! You are all well deserving of a spot -- let's hope some of us also get placements to schools. It seems like Cincy is a common school among many of us --competition is bound to be tight. May the best few win! Im still debaing where the best fit for me would be. Should I pick the school that i have the best fit w in terms of faculty, the school reputation, or the location and funding package?
