  1. Hello everyone! Just wondering if anyone would have some insight regarding the Master's in International Affairs Program at UW. I would like to get into the Middle Eastern Studies track. I'm graduating this December from the University of Central Florida (Honors Program) with a BA in Technical Communication and BA in Spanish. I also have minors in Diplomacy and Poly Sci. These are my stats: GPA: 3.88 GRE: I'm taking the GRE soon and based on the pretest I should hopefully score around a 155 on Quant and 163 on Verbal. Research Experience: Three fellowship positions through UCF, two of which focused on the Middle East, research assistant for a political science professor on Latin America, undergraduate thesis for Spanish major. I've also taken some classes focusing on the Middle East for my minors and have made it an effort to include it in my other classes. I have internship experience in international affairs. Languages: fluent in English, highly proficient in Spanish, starting Arabic and French this fall I'm worried about what my chances will be to get into the program because most of my experience with the field has been through classes for my minors or outside work/internship experience. I'd like to go straight into an MA program, but I'm worried that my lack of work experience and lack of a more relevant major might detract from my application and chances for admission/funding. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
