  1. Yep, some of mine require such sample as well. now working to make it as best as possible
  2. Hi Wecanall and Jay, thank you for this valuable feedback. Yes, both my B.A and M.A GPA are above 3.9, and I have contacted faculty in all the programs i'm applying to and they all invited me to apply. I was just worried the low AWA will result in my application failing to reach some initial cutoff, but I guess you're both right, I'll apply and hope for the best. So at the moment I'm working hard on my personal statement in hopes it could compensate for the AWA score, at least in part. Thank you for your support
  3. Good to know ! thank you so much for this information :]
  4. yeah, that's what I thought :/ Thanks !
  5. Hi guys, Did anyone ever request ETS to review their AWA score on the GRE? ETS offer such service, and I wonder whether anyone has experience with them changing / not changing the original score Thank you !
  6. Hi guys, I'll appriciate some advice. I'm an international student applying to Ph.D programs in clinical psychology. My GRE scores are V - 155 ; Q - 160, which are not brilliant but reasonable for most programs. However, my AWA is 3.5 (42%), which is low. Do you know how much weight programs usually give to the AWA part ? is there a point of registering with such a score, or would my application probably not pass the first phase of the admission process ? Thanks
  7. Thank you for the good advice :] !
  8. Great, thank you for the advice !
  9. Hello, I'm applying for Clinical psychology PhD programs, and am unsure whether to include former education (music in my case) and work experience which are not related to therapy or research. I can see how these may be irrelevant, but since I started studying psychology at a relatively late age, if I omit them It will leave great time-gaps in my CV. would be glad to have your opinions :]
  10. Thank you both for the elaborated replies ! Since I am interested both on therapy and research, I am applying to both PhD and PsyD programs, while attempting to pick PhD programs which are relatively clinically oriented. As you mentioned, finance issues definitely have a big part in this decision, which also makes me focus on PhD programs. However, since my research field is mainly cognitive (and a somewhat narrow field in it), there's no abundance of researchers studying it within clinical departments, but usually (as i learned after tracking down some major names in the topic as you suggested) in departments which are purely cognitive / research based. I am actually following both directions Stochatic suggested, going for major names out of the literature on the field on the one hand, and searching through potential universities faculties on the other. Writing here was an attempt to gain further insight from people who may be familiar with more professionals on the field I'm unaware of But you are right in that throughout the process I am opening up to somewhat wider ideas which may have to do with the general field, and, as Anxious said, in the case of PsyD the research doesn't have to be very precise (though my pretty much is). Thank you again for the good advises, and perhaps someone here will still come up with a relevant name I'm unfamiliar with. Cheers
  11. I'm applying to PhD / PsyD programs in Canada, U.S and OZ. My research field is executive functions, namely - response inhibition, which I'd like to investigate in several clinical populations, and in no-clinical ones as a possible factor connected with personality characteristics. I managed to find some supervisors dealing with cognitive response inhibition but not too many. Does anyone know of any supervisors close to the topic ?
