  1. My trip went well and I've decided to attend BU. I was impressed with their program and really like the campus. My decision was based more on which city I felt I could see myself staying in after grad school. NYC was a bit much for me... great city and great school, but I just couldn't see myself living there. Although the BU campus is considered a city campus, it really feels open. I felt really trapped and closed in at the NYU campus with the tall building... I guess I should have figured being that I grew up in wide open Alaska. I had to travel there first to know for sure though!
  2. Yes, I am interested in the clinical track at BU. I just got my acceptance yesterday from NYU so I will be visiting both next week. NYU offered me a larger scholarship than BU, but since the tuition is more it ends up being about equal. I'm excited to visit both campuses... I think it will make my decision easier as well! I hope so at least
  3. Congrats!! I was accepted to BU last week via e-mail. They sent the Financial Aid award letter along with the acceptance letter and I was offered a 1/3 tuition scholarship. I will be BU and NYU next week to make my final decision!
  4. Congrats! Have you made a decision yet? I plan to travel to Boston next week to check it out since it will be a big move for me coming from Alaska. I'm hoping to hear back from NYU soon.... I'm thinking that will be the deciding factor for me. Agape - I was accepted to the two year program.
  5. Yay!!! I was just accepted via email and they offered me a 1/3 tuition scholarship! Very excited about that... I was starting to stress over tuition!!
  6. I received acceptance letters from University of Hawaii and Simmons College in the mail and was rejected to Berkeley through email. I received an email from NYU last week apologizing for the delay. They said that they had an increased number of applicants and would notify applicants by email as soon as they have a decision. Have not heard anything yet from PSU, Hunter or BU yet. Elbertpark - I saw on another thread that you applied to PSU's advance standing program. I didn't apply advance standing and haven't heard anything back yet. The application states that they do not make decisions until all applications have been reviewed, so I assume they must have processed the advance standing applications first. Good luck!
  7. I finally got my first letter back yesterday and was accepted to Simmons College! It was a relief to finally hear something back. Now I just have to wait for the rest. The only thing that concerns me is that they want an acceptance response with a $200 deposit by April 5th. At least 3 of the schools I have applied to have said that they will have made a decision by the end of April. I think I will call and talk to them today to see how it works if you don't get a response in by that date and also find out what they can offer me for financial aid... that will be a big deciding factor.
  8. Yes, I would agree that the BU application process was quite frustrating. I really wish that the online recommendation emails were sent out when the reference info was entered rather than when the application was submitted. I completed my application in early February, but one of my referrers did not submit their recommendation until March 2nd (thank goodness the deadline was extended!). I received an email on March 4th that my application was complete and I should hear from them before April 30th.
  9. I just completed my application this week. I was confused about why they extended the deadline because a couple of weeks earlier they sent me an email saying that due to increased applications they would guarantee that anyone who submitted their application by the March 1st deadline would receive an admissions decision by March 31st. Seems odd to me that they would extend the deadline when they had increased applicants.
  10. I'm so glad that I came upon this forum! It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting replies! I have applied to the MSW programs at Berkeley, Portland State, University of Hawaii, NYU, Hunter, Simmons and Boston University. I applied to most very close to the deadline and have not heard back from any yet. Has anyone heard from any of these?? Good luck to all!
