  1. I deferred at Georgetown (MSFS) last year, with a 50% scholarship. I was offered the same level of funding again this year, so in my case it worked out well.
  2. I was waitlisted last year and was offered admission in late-April. I think there's a decent chance for people on the wait list since SIPA has such a large intake class compared to smaller programs like WWS and MSFS.
  3. I participated in the online chat last afternoon. Definitely got some useful insights, especially from current students in the program. That being said, I'm not anywhere closer to deciding b/w G'town and SAIS at this point. I'm hoping to attend the Open Houses in mid-April.
  4. Finally got my funding decision as well - no $$...still waiting on Georgetown but not expecting much there either since they seem to give very few first year fellowships. So it's likely that it's going to come down to either 8K at Fletcher or full cost at SAIS or G'town. Decisions, decisions....
  5. Cool..thanks for the clarification. I'm not an American so those loans aren't applicable to me.
  6. Waiting on my funding decision email as well. The acceptance email said that financial aid info would be available by the end of the week, so hopefully something by t'row. Question for the folks that got their decision - the loans that you're alluding to, are they loans from JHU or do you have to apply to a private bank that they're affiliated with?
  7. I'm a bit lost myself to be honest. Haven't visited any of them, or the cities for that matter. So unlike several people here, I don't have a pre-established network, so to speak, in either Washington or Boston. A professor of mine (who wrote me a reference) suggested that I go through the faculty at each school in detail and look at their areas of expertise, research interests, etc and then try and identify the school which I'm most compatible with. I think that's pretty sound advice. Other than that, waiting on scholarship info from GT and SAIS for the moment. Sorry I couldn't give you much of an informed opinion. Congrats on your acceptances!
  8. Got my acceptance email last evening. So I'm in G/T, SAIS, and Fletcher. Waitlisted at SIPA. Got 8K at Fletcher, awaiting financial award info from GT and SAIS. Although it seems like GT doesn't offer too many first year scholarships, so I'm not overly optmistic about getting one. FYI, I'm in Canada.
  9. Just got my acceptance to the DC program. Waiting on financial aid info. No mention of a mandatory econ course, but I've done econ in my previous masters (public admin).
  10. Accepted with an 8K scholarship to the MALD program. Waitlisted at SIPA and awaiting SAIS and Georgetown.
