Hi,
I'm a student in my senior year of Computer Science and I am planning to apply for a computer science masters degree (currently not considering a PhD) in the US. Based on my profile below, what do you think are my chances of getting into the schools below? Which schools would you suggest I apply for?
School: University of British Columbia (top 3 Canadian school)
Major: Honors in Mathematics and Computer Science (sort of rigorous in theory with graduate / honors math courses)
Major GPA: 4.0/4.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.8/4.0 (roughly; maybe between 3.7-3.8)
GRE: V: 151, Q: 162, W: N/A (on the low side but I only studied for a few days because I terribly busy schedule right now and only studied for a few days - I really messed up quantitative section by taking too long...)
Publications: None...
Research: Previously worked with two professors that come from top tier universities and they seem to have a good impression of me. I volunteered for a little less than a year with of the one professors and did a self study course with the other (didn't turn out too well IMO because I didn't have enough experience in the subject but he has good things to say). I am currently working on my honors thesis which hopefully adds more to what they could say about me.
Industry: Microsoft, Amazon, and other local companies.
Schools I would like to apply for (masters program):
Carnegie Mellon University
Stanford University
Yale University
Princeton University
UCLA
What schools would you suggest I apply for instead if these are too ambitious and should I try to apply for a PhD with this profile?
Thanks!
Note: I don't have much time to take the test again (I don't think I can take it again because applications happen early to mid December. Getting a higher quant score will be no problem but I have to invest time into it...
