Hi Psyduck_1 ! I did not take the optional video interview that was sent after I turned in the application. I did the small video question within the application, but refrained from doing the optional video afterwards because i was busy with finals at the time. I was called by a Northwestern professor about my acceptance on Dec. 12, I think.

I got a Dean's fellowship too at Columbia, so I'm also not sure if they just give these 'fellowships' to every graduate student whose tuition is covered.

Got an acceptance from UCSB this morning! I applied to the materials track. Heard back from all 5 of the schools I applied to.

I didn't do the additional video interview questions aside from the one video question within the original application. I applied November 30, received an acceptance phone call from an organic professor on Dec 13, another phone call from the department admissions people on Dec 17, and the official acceptance letter via email on Dec 22.

I think I picked organic. Also, I have heard that Northwestern sends out different rounds of acceptances, one coming out in early January I think.

I also got a call from Northwestern on Saturday (12/17) saying I got accepted into the program, ( !) but have yet to receive an official email or letter. I didn't do the video interview either because I didn't really find the time. I was wondering if I just imagined that phone call because it woke me up on Saturday morning lol.

No, there's no interview, they just email a response.

Hi KR, No I didn't do the video interview yet because I'm sort of scared/studying for finals now. I might do it this Friday, but it might be too late at that point? Did you do it?

Hi Everyone! Current UC Berkeley chemistry undergrad applying to materials and organic Ph.D. programs. 1 publication (6th author lol), and 2 years of research experiences at 2 institutions. Applying to: UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, University of Washington, Northwestern, and Columbia GRE: 158 Verbal, 160 Quantitative, 5.0 Writing Chemistry GRE: 780 Overall GPA: 3.81 Major GPA: 3.75 Submitted every application except for Columbia so far. Hoping to hear back soon!

Has anyone done the interview? Do we still have to do the interview at this point? The Dec 1 deadline passed, so will it still be considered?
