  1. Hey Energie, Is it generally tougher to get into IDEV or ERE vs the other streams?
  2. I think you'll do just fine with a regular calculator.
  3. Any internationals, or anyone really hear back about funding today?
  4. Has everyone already received their funding decision for SAIS?
  5. Ra>Rd aside. What is the intrinsic value of learning?
  6. Thanks runnin, are you folks US-residents? I'm an international student (if you consider Canadian international). That might explain the holdup.
  7. Didn't receive an email yet. Does anyone have the link? Is the userID/pass the same as our online application login?
  8. Programs: MA Schools Applied To: JHU (SAIS - ERE Program) Schools Admitted To: JHU (SAIS - ERE Program) Schools Rejected From: - Waitlisted: - Still Waiting: - Undergraduate institution: Top Tier Canadian Undergraduate GPA: 3.73 GMAT Quantitative Score: 50 GMAT Verbal Score: 41 GMAT AWA Score: 6.0 GMAT Overall Score: 750 Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 2 Years of Work Experience: 2 Describe Relevant Work Experience: Two years working for a niche consulting firm - broad industry exposure, but most concentrated work in health care, alternative energy. Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): Didn't discuss my accomplishments as much as what my career trajectory has been and would be following the program. I think in this way the Adcom can immediately identify whether or not you are a fit for the program (something you should very much consider before applying). Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): One letter from the director of my undergraduate program, one letter from the principal of my current firm. I was actually quite nervous about getting a professional reference. If you can articulate why a move back to grad school is the right decision, you should be fine. Decision: Waiting on funding and non-SAIS fellowships but will likely accept SAIS.
  9. I just found out that the average private sector salary coming out of SAIS is 63K... considering the program costs roughly 100K in tuition and expenses, which is comparable to the cost of an MBA, is the MA really a good value?
  10. Does anyone know what the admit rate is for DC? Even more specifically IDEV and ERE?
  11. Admit, waiting on a Fulbright decision, but will likely choose SAIS! GL to all of you!
  12. His profile indicates he was admitted March 5th - that is very early. The adcomm actually met on March 5th to make decisions/parcel out potential admits to the decision makers for various concentrations. I know this because I called SAIS and was told this (without asking). It is perfectly reasonable that the individual was contacted the same day but that would certainly not be the norm. Anyways, hopefully we find out tomorrow!
  13. Did you defer acceptance? I was under the impression that decisions had not gone out yet.
  14. Thanks, sounds like you've got a pretty strong profile. I've got an academic exchange under my belt, but I certainly can't say that I know 4 languages (I speak only English).
  15. Energy, resources and environment.. do you guys mind sharing your profiles? Mine is: Cdn business undergrad, distinction 750 GMAT (Q50, V41) 2 Yrs niche consulting firm
